It’s not really the same thing since Saban was actually focused on the job at Bama. For some reason, Lane seems unable to keep our name out of his mouth.

You don't think this has anything to do with where saban coached previously to bama, at miami? I'm sure the last thing he wanted to do was bring up that shite storm. He was a couple years removed from LSU at that point.

Also, Kiffin is a troll. Its what he does, and its clearly working.

No I don’t. LSU fans in this thread are asking why Ole Miss fans don’t move on. We aren’t allowed to because Lane won’t shut up.

The message I responded to stated LSU fans are hypocritical. This is because they wouldn’t shut up about Saban for 15 years despite that stint at Miami in between, and Saban being mostly complimentary of LSU during that time.

You’re right Lane is an antagonist. And we’re allowed to defend ourselves. Yall wouldn’t leave Saban alone despite how classy he was during that time. He took a better job and shut up. Lane could learn a lot from him.

Lane isn't forcing Rebel fans like pankReb to create threads like this.

Pank is responding to Lane, however. Had Lane not opened his mouth, this thread wouldn’t exist.

And no one is forcing you to cry every time someone posts about LSU or Kiffin but there you are.

The hilarious part of this is that this is a clear response thread to an LSU fan claiming 17 threads about Lane on the first page.

But LSU fans are far too stupid and broken to understand it. Just look at how many of them are crying actual tears in this thread.

pank seems to be alleging that if Ole Miss is racist, Lane is complicit because he stayed there 6 years.

Yet Lane never said Ole Miss was racist, he never said anything negative about Ole Miss, itself, at all.

He just said the families of some kids had a certain perception about the place, which if everyone is being honest, is pretty believable even if it probably isn't fair.

I know people have perceptions about Baton Rouge and its violence, whether that's reality or not.

He stated that grandparents and parents of kids wouldn’t let them go to Oxford, Mississippi, specifically. If he meant the perception of Mississippi as a whole, he could’ve expanded upon that idea in the 4 hour interview that he had. But he had to put out a non-apology apology to say it was about Mississippi.

Or he could’ve just said it’s easier to recruit with the resources and talent available at LSU. Not mentioning it would seem to be easier.

Well yeah.

But he's too much of a troll or too autistic to take that route.

Exactly. So if Lane lets it go, so will we. You can’t be comparing the cities and say there’s no segregation in Baton Rouge compared to Oxford and expect us to take it quietly.

He didn't. He just said that's the perception that families of recruits have.

I don't think it's super outlandish to believe there are people that really have those perceptions, do you?

People face weird perceptions about the South.

It’s not about whether there are perceptions. It’s about when and where he finally decided to bring up the perceptions.

Like we both have established, it would’ve been easier to say that it’s easier to recruit to LSU and stopped there. But instead, he deploys a rhetorical sleight of hand to besmirch “Oxford, Mississippi” (not the South, not Mississippi. Oxford.) and not be held accountable for it.

When is the last time a coach stated they had difficulty recruiting to LSU because of gun violence? Oddly, Lane didn’t say it was easier to recruit to a safe college town while at Ole Miss and emphasize its differences while here.

He brought up the “perception” when it suited him. Thus Pank’s thread exists.

Fair enough.

I think he was trolling and got what he wanted.
