LSU was 6-1 beating Florida by 30 points when QB Matt Mauck broke his leg.
LSU had no capable back up and limped to the finish line. Had Mauck not broke his leg, LSU rolls to a 11+ win season.

I can’t disagree. This has marched into the territory of supply and demand. Apparently the supply side is in the shitter. It’s head scratching. Wherever Lane ends up….he will have pulled off the greatest con job in football history. Everyone ignores the Ole Miss NIL commitment and the schedule we’ve had the last few years. If he chooses to stay put he will get paid and we will move on, that is because no one wants to be in the coaching market right now. But most Ole Miss fans believe he is gone. So he will be the circus for LSU to deal with. Or Florida but I think they are out.

Nussmeier started, and played, every single game while Kelly was employed at LSU this year. And… LSU scored 30+ points in 6 of the 7 games Mauck played. LSU never scored more than 25 against a P4 team all year this year with and without Nuss.

If Kiffin goes 8-4, 9-3 and 8-5 his first three seasons it won’t matter what happens, he will be fired or assassinated. Or both.
