I can understand Ole Miss wanting to give Kiffin the bag. He is the current head coach and Ole Miss is trying to keep some stability in the program. Stability is worth paying a little extra for to keep everything on track.

That being said though there is a right and wrong way to do things. Kiffin has handled this whole situation like some reality show drama queen. The way he has handled this situation would shock Jerry Springer and leave him speechless. Doing all of this is one thing but doing it at the end of the season when Ole Miss is in excellent position when it comes to the playoff is another. I mean Ole Miss has been good to him and gave him everything he has asked for since he has been coach. Asking Kiffin to handle this situation with a little class and professionalism isn’t to much to ask out of him.

Nobody hates their National Championship Coaches more than Rantards.

Every single one of them apparently can't coach worth a shite and only won because of the talent on their teams.

***And I'm including Saban in this narrative because there was a good portion of the fan base that was glad he went to Miami after the 2004 season because he "Was a flash in the pan who got lackadaisical after winning it all and lost his fire."

Keep in mind, this was not the Bama dynasty Saban, and I honestly believe he wouldn't have achieved the same at LSU if he stayed because he wouldn't have the Miami failure to fuel him. Maybe wins one more at LSU

UCF is.

And Miami. It's hard to live down getting destroyed on the field 40-3, then getting your asses kicked in the tunnel after the game because you started a fight with the same guys who made you their bitches during the game.

2005 Peach Bowl was delicious.

If Flynn was allowed to take the starting job from Jamarcus for 2006 after that game, Les would have 2 NCs.

Bama fans can assure LSU Fans, they are NOT WORRIED about Who you get as your Coach. Since 2000 these teams have played 26 times with Bama winning 15. LSU 11. Kiffins offensive gambling beliefs
All but assures his opponents will always have a better than average shot of beating Ole Miss. But hey, enjoy your 10 win season.

Like clockwork, as soon as if looks as if Lane will goto LSU, here we go with it not being a good hire.

Sadly, Lane won't last 4 years at LSU. They won't tolerate going 9-3 every year.

There’s probably a 70% chance he wins a natty at LSU but the first press conference after his offense scores 17 points and inexplicably loses to a 1-7 SEC team is going to be hilarious

the only possibility of him leaving for a bigger job would be if he got another shot in the NFL

LSU can’t trust Lane because he has a history of leaving for the next big job. And that will make them paranoid as hell. On the other hand Lane can’t trust LSU will stick with him even if he wins a NC or honor a contract (if they want to fire him for not meeting expectations) based on how they have treated their past coaches, some of whom had won National championships at LSU.

Now what football player wants to be stuck in this kind of environment.
If Saban would leave LSU for the NFL after building and winning a national championship team and have them in place to win another, then Kiffin will most assuredly bolt at the first offer without any hardware.

If he truly wanted to wait and consider other options at end of season, what is he supposed to do, when everyone forcing his hand to decide now?

Was the only "professional" way to handle it to just accept Ole Miss extension?

The only thing I would have done differently is not sending the family on reconnaissance missions to Gainesville and Baton Rouge.

You should take the comments about Kiffin from Bama fans as a warning.
Why? Rabid Tiger fans didn’t listen to ND fans warnings when CBK was hired. Didn’t pay attention to CEO’s antics before hiring. Weren’t concerned about CLM cautions from OSU fans.
