When is the last time either of those teams even made it to the NC? This comment is dumb and you know it.

I’m not sure, but I think it was in jest.

Dabo is toast, he won’t evolve and manage his roster in today’s college football environment. The real indictment of his stubbornness is he brought back Chad Morris who couldn’t find a decent job anywhere. Dabo will take his $57million and ride off into the sunset.

Dabo had Venables who was able to steal signs. When he bolted you fell apart.

Dabo has embraced NIL and the transfer portal.

Your take is as dumb as a team running the wishbone and talking about the forward pass ruining football

Don't forget he's also employing Matt Luke as Co-OC

Let's put aside transfer portal, recruiting, NIL. Forget all of that, after all even if you get talent you need someone to coach them up, develop them and implement a scheme and offensive identity. Dabo had issues with the offense last year, big time so he has to be sure to get this right. Who are the people he puts his trust in to achieve such a task and turn this offense around?

Chad Morris and Matt Luke

That was a really not smart comment. He needs to quit talking. The SEC hasn't withdrawn its suit I don't believe.

Hello. It's 2026 and the game has changed. You can wrap yourself in Grandpa Dabo's antiquated way of doing things and maybe that will make things more comfortable. However going forward, stubborn, holier-than-thou Dabo is dragging you into the abyss. Jesus won't save the Clemson program. Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence aren't walking through that door.

Since you like the past so much, go all the way. Go back to leather helmets, run the Power-I, and have your cheerleaders wear poodle skirts, bobby socks, and oxfords.

Going back to leather helmets will solve the targeting issue. Players ain't so keen on using there heads as spearpoints when wearing a leather helmet. I used to have one as a kid and we learned all kinds of ways to tackle without that face and heard protection.

I don't like it any more than you do, but "that era" doesn't exist anymore. It was eradicated by NIL and the college free agent transfer portal. Dabo would have been wise to have followed the lead of Coach Saban and exited the stage with a highly respectable name once this brand of football and athletics took over at the college level.

Bryant was a master at manipulating the rules during his reign to build Alabama into a monster, then the rules changed a bit regarding recruiting and scholarships and he wasn't quite the emperor that he had been.

Saban did the same at Alabama (and reinvigorated LSU's program) under a different rule structure than existed during the Bryant years of domination. Wisely, when NIL and this transfer portal came into existence, Saban retired and kept his image intact.

Dabo, while not the king of the most recent era of CFB, was certainly among the beloved princes. However, he saw fit to neither retire nor make the necessary changes to maintain his kingdom's power, thus he and his principality are awash in the heavy seas of this new era.

Lane Kiffin sat at the feet of the emperor there in Alabama, and then traveled to other lands to try his hand at establishing a kingdom. He suffered many failures, but he never wallowed in self pity. He learned from his mistakes, he studied the new law that was taking over the land, and he became an expert in the new ways. And, although he has yet to rise to the level of emperor, he seems to show all the signs of having the ability, knowledge, and drive to do so.

Those who do not make the adjustment to survive in this new, ruthless world of college football will be remembered fondly, but they will see the power they once wielded dissipate year by year until their memory fades away and the underclass demands their heads at the guillotine.

I prefer the old ways, myself, but those days are gone and are not likely to return. So there are two choices, ruminate on the days of yore while working yourself into a useless frenzy of rage, or study and embrace the new ways to the fullest and climb the mountain to stand on the corpses of your opponents.

I'm trying to understand. LSU and kiffin played within the rules of the game at this point.

Dabo won playing by the rules of the game at that time.

Kiffin beat the crap out of Clemson playing by the rules at the time of the game.

So, explain what your point is?

You do understand that Clemson took 11 transfer portal players this past off season, right? What is the acceptable number? Is there a limit that is acceptable, then it is uncceptable?
