The only thing not being touched are the upper 2 decks of the student side so the seats will still be tiny as frick and force the students to stand. The north endzone is getting the least amount of work done supposedly just adding rows when they lower the field. the West side is getting demo and the south being constructed.
I mean the latest stadiums produced by Populous do look great.

All of the above has been substantiated by folks with others close to the project.
What you see above is what will go down.

My brother's company was awarded the final contract to rebuild the stadium. He was in on the final meeting with the A&M Board prior to the awarding of the contract. Here is what I got from him.
1) 3 years to complete
2) 1st year - build new south end zone and revamp and update the east side
3) 2nd year - completely tear down the west side and rebuild before in one off season. (doing this instead of the first year because it will save us 30 mil)
4) 3rd year - complete the facade on the entire stadium and other cosmetic things.
5) Will be the 6th largest stadium in the world at about 104 K capacity and 3rd largest in the U.S. behind Michigan and Penn State.
6) Largest stadium in the SEC.
7) Board was worried about not being able to sell all the seats, but were told that it was the most cost effective way, instead of adding the additional seats later.
8) Oh yeah, the field will be lowered 7 to 8 feet and the track removed.
9) The 2nd year tear down and build is very aggressive.
10) No luxury suites will be put in on the East Side. The "money seats" will be on the West Side and I guess some in the South Zone

Last thing I read about it said to be ready for 2015 season. So here's to probably 6 straight road games to start the season and finishing at a long strech at home that year....
