The bats will roost right above the visitors locker room

Good thing size matters because that is one of the most disjointed looking stadiums I have ever seen. It even kept the tackle box illusion.

I've heard of wanting to fit in the SEC but building a plantation house right next to the stadium is a little drastic don't you think?

What exactly are we looking at here? I don;t see much of a difference besides adding the bit shite protector roof at the top

It is an improvement and looks like a real SEC stadium.

That house has been there since 1965.

Serious question. For the amount of money A&M just spend how big of a stadium could they have built from scratch??
Currently, it looks like lipstick on a pig. Just looks terrible.

For the amount of money you guys poured into renovating and expanding the stadium, I'm unimpressed.
Considering the amount of money you raised, I think you could have just torn it down and started over and you would have ended up with a better stadium to show for it (even if it wasn't quite as big).

So this is what the stadium will eventually look like?
If so I like the rendition version.

It's half done FYI to all those judging it already

Nothing you've ever posted about A&M has been "serious."
Razing the stadium was one of many options considered--thoroughly.
Construction would've "shut-down" the stadium for at least a year, moving our home games to Houston.
Many College Station businesses do the bulk of their business during football season and would've been put out to pasture.
Ultimately, the decision to expand the current building was made with the community in mind.

yeah basically. the real eyesore is their southside. you cant see it in that pic.
but once it's complete it will look pretty good no doubt.

That was one of the plans considered, but it would have involved doing a season in Reliant, which they decided against.
Phase two will be to make the other side of the stadium 'match' the newly renovated side.
Basically, the end goal is to make the stadium match the campus: completely random designs pushed together with no cohesive theme.

First off, this is phase I, it's not completed yet.
Secondly, we kept the student section intact to preserve stadium capacity. If we rebuilt it, we would have to decrease the seating capacity due to newer building codes.
I wish we would've rebuilt the stadium from scratch, but the hotels, restaurants and other retailers came together and protested. A&M home games made up 50% of their yearly revenue and they couldn't survive one season out of CS.

Which is cool. I think the finished product will be worth the wait if those photos you pasted are what the end result will be.

I'm disappointed we aren't putting a facade on the Southside. One of the few things I don't like about the project
