Have you ever seen a picture of a long term meth user? Why the frick would someone use meth having seen that?
People are going to do what people are going to do.
Programs in general designed to influence the thinking of people who do ignorant shite are destined to fail for the most part.

I'll play.
NO
If someone is willing to commit multiple felonies in the name of fun, there is no intervention you can do that will prevent them from engaging in that behavior.
People willing to engage in behaviors with significant permanent risk for a momentary superficial reward aren't going to be swayed by some pamphlet or series of lectures. They're going to act in the moment. Just ask Bobby Petrino.
To echo others, wtf do you care about motivation? It doesn't make the crime any more or less severe. Actions are all that matter.

Who isn't getting that part of the story? Or are you suggesting that everytime somebody gets knocked out it's part of some "game?" If so that's hillarious. Could it be much bigger, stronger athletes jumping some random student can cause that harm fairly easily when beating them up and robbing them?

"What about the LSU curb stomp game???"
I am not condoning what Jefferswag did, but all reports (by standers and police) lead us to believe the guy who got stomped out deserved it, marine or not.

Of course he did, just like the students at BAMA. Lets face it, a thug is gonna thug and a troll is gonna troll!

So, again, what should/can be done? How is this dealt with?

Good reason for concealed carry .

I agree. A bullet to the chest would probably stop these thugs from beating on an innocent person.

And you're clearly trolling. The Jeffeson incident was stupid as hell, but he wasn't attacking random students hanging around campus. The guy he got into it with was starting shite with a girl in the bar and then acting like as arse outside of the bar.

Knockout Game?
Apparently, the recent thuggery involving Alabama football players was committed as part of a brutal "game" where a group of guys find an innocent bystander of a different race (seems to have only happened so far as a black-on-white game) and beat the bystander to a pulp until they go unconscious. The thug with the least number of punches needed to "knockout" the victim, wins.
The "game" has not only been "played" by 'Bama players, but also by football players at other colleges -- notably Pitt and Wisconsin.
These incidents, this violence, has me perplexed with two questions: 1) What goes through someone's head to think that knocking someone out is "fun"?; and 2) Is there anything that will finally stop racially structured violence? I suppose that a third question is appropriate also: Do these football players think that they are somehow above the law, that their fame will protect them (e.g. Ray Lewis)??
ANYBODY?
Ask Jordan Jefferson, he should know.

could imagine if a student had actually shot a couple football players dead?... he'd never be able to set foot in AL ever again.
There is a protocol when being abused by a Bama football player... Upshaw's GF knew the drill... and so do these kids.... take your beating, smile, and say 'roll tide'.
ETA: how many bama fans would actually pay for the opportunity to be beaten by one of Nick Saban's players?

The thugs would've been made out to be the victims, and the shooter the bad guy, real quick.

no doubt... killing a couple unarmed freshmen football players?... he'd get a fair trial in Tuscaloosa Co....

First we need to recognize it's bigger than this. The current illegitimacy rate amongst blacks is near 75%. Back in the 70' and 80's generally grandmother was a positive influence and helped greatly in raising black youths whose fathers weren't really in the picture. This is no longer true, the current grandmothers being the mothers 30 years ago who knew only the welfare state. There is no cure for this save fathers being in the house physically and raising the boy properly. There isn't a substitute in my opinion. Currently the illegitimacy rate for hispanics is slightly over 50% and for whites approaching 30%. What's worse than 'wilding' blacks in America? Wilding whites who constitute the population majority. I'm afraid that time might be coming.

Of course he wasn't. He was a model citizen and an outstanding QB while at LSU. Just ask Les if you don't believe me.

Well this Bama fan found that link interesting. I have never heard of this concept, and I am unsure of how real it is. A concept I have thought a lot post Trayvon Martin is how willing the media is willing to affect the narrative in racism stories when they can make a case for white racism, but how they refrain from going the other way. This is a real problem in this country. I’m not even talking about what happened in Tuscaloosa as I guess there are some indications this wasn’t all robbery, but we don’t know if it was part of a more specific trend, a ‘game’ such as the writer has outlined. I’m curious, are there actually documented cases of these criminals yelling shite like ‘knockout game’ during an attack? I’d like to look into that if anyone has any links. If so, I do find it appalling this isn’t getting media attention as that would be about the most black and white candidate for hate crime that I can imagine.
On a totally unrelated note, I support the staff in not just buckling under pressure and kicking these guys off the team like the night it happened. We’ve learned that, confession or not, things are often not what they seem at first (Manti T’eo comes tom mind). With that said, after everyone has had a chance to review the evidence and it seems our current understanding of what happened is accurate, if these pieces of shite aren’t kicked off the team for the first time I’m going to lose confidence in Saban as a disciplinarian.

No one in the history of the world has been knocked unconscious by members of another race during a robbery? I'm not sure why you can't grasp that people have been beaten unconscious when the motivation is robbery, but it's still there awaiting your recognition
