The point is that the UGA team is deep.
We can win on the ground.
We can run zone/RPO.
We can run power/counter.

We can win in the air.
We have a quick game.
We have beaten zone surprisingly well this year.
We can run matchup nightmares against man coverage.

We can formation a defense into confusion and run/pass out of all of it.

Oh. And we can win on defense.

Tennessee has a great offense.
But it has been stopped.
We have the personnel to do it as well.

If bama wins the SEC, an 11-1 UT team with a win over Bama and a loss on the road at #1 has a better chance than a 12-1 UGA team with a neutral site win over Oregon.

Rushing
@Pitt 2.6 ypa.
34 points

Passing
@Pitt 145 QB efficiency.
@LSU 155.98 QB efficiency.
40 points

This game is @UGA against a defense better than Pitt or LSU.

You may notice a theme.

If giving up 34 points and 400+ yards of offense is "stopping it," Tennessee probably has a pretty damn good offense that is hard to stop

Is this like when UGA "stopped" the LSU offense in 2019?

But yes, week 2 was probably Tennessee's worst game of the season. They are the exact same team now, just like UGA in their struggle wins against Kent St and Missouri.

If bama wins the SEC

A very big IF but if UA wins out yes they will go to the playoffs. But a 1 loss team from the SEC East that did not play in Atlanta will not go unless total chaos happens.

B10 Champ(Undefeated OSU or UM), ACC Champ (assume undefeated Clemson), B12 Champ(undefeated TCU), and a 1 loss PAC12 champ(Oregon) would all get in over a 1 loss SEC east team that did not play in Atlanta and I would not be surprised a 1 loss SEC runner up as well would be left out.

If OSU and Clemson win out everyone knows they are in. The SEC champ is in. The B12 & PAC12 both play the top 2 teams in their CG now since neither have divisions. So that will help both of them. But the only way the SEC gets 2 in at the current time is if UA wins out and the SEC runner up keeps it close. Whoever loses the game between UGA and UT are out unless TCU and Oregon completely screw up.

Hendon Hooker looked like the second coming of Joe Montana when they played Georgia last season. Definitely didn't struggle and look like shite at all.

Selective memory? 41-17 is hardly a squeaker.

So, Tenn is worse than GA everywhere else?

I agree...

Hooker should honestly be getting Heisman votes. Other than that, the only issue for UGA is the organic QB sack/pressure from their base defense.

The defense is sound in just about all other facets. I'm only expecting to give 21-24 points. The offense is capable of executing long back breaking drives other offenses have forgotten how to is what I'm banking on to mitigate the Tenn offense.

UGA is one of the best defenses for pressure.

But yes, we are on the flip side of that stat for sacks.

After week 6, we were #1 in the country for forcing QB throwaway. I hadn't seen any update after last week.

That's been balanced by the Dawg D forcing opposing QBs to throw the ball away at an abnormally-high clip, given the option of taking the sack or throwing it into the sidelines.

I'm sure it is probably pff.

One of their video guys contributes on a uga podcast.

Edit: see above your post. Brent Rollins works for pff and contributes to ugasports.com podcasts and film reviews.

Yeah, but if our line play and WRs were bad we would also be an 8 win team even with Hooker.

Hooker has been great this year for Tennessee, no doubt. He shouldn't be overlooked by anybody.

The thing you’re missing is that UGA in that scenario would also have a win over a 1 loss UT. Same number of losses. One more win. Head to head victory. All that would likely add up to UGA being ahead of UT in the pecking order.

If undefeated UGA is playing a 1 loss Bama in the seccg, Tennessee would do better with UGA winning in terms of getting into the playoff.

No offense, but I always find these type comments funny. Fans can look ahead all they want. It will have no impact on the game...whether it is Tennessee looking ahead or Georgia fans looking ahead.

I didn’t say they were bad. I said they werent exceptional. They’re average to slightly above average.
