He made a comment earlier this week that shows his continuing growth and maturity as a head coach. Hopefully, we'll see better results on the field down the line. Too many players around the country see whatever school they do end up at as nothing as a ticket to the NFL---if they make it at all (very few of them do).

“The older I get, the wiser I get, and the more you realize that chasing the guys that don’t believe in the same principles and values of your university and of your program, they’re just not worth it,” Smart said. “Take the guys that want to be there, play with the guys that want to be there. No. 1, you’ll enjoy your job day to day, your staff will enjoy it more and so will your other players.”

I mean its true.

Give me a 2 or 3 star like Justin Jefferson that wants to be at his school over kids like the 5 star LSU was recruiting from Maryland that basically said winning playoff games didn't help his individual future.

I think dealing with George Pickens this year has worn him out, along with the recruitment of Zach Evans.

I agree with Kirby, it's just too much trouble chasing someone who ultimately you can't rely on. There are plenty of high character kids who are also great talents; that's not to say you can't recruit a few knuckleheads but you can't have more than you can handle because they poison the locker room.

Why would a recruit want to go to UGA?

They don't utilize the talent. You fall off draft boards, etc.

It makes zero sense to go to UGA if you're a blue-chip player when Kirby doesn't know how to use your talents.

You're underestimating how "confident" most players and coaches are.

They always think they're the ones who can fix it all and it wouldnt take much in UGA's case.

They certainly DON'T WANT TO GO TO FLORIDA, that's for sure!

Not true. You know Kirby is feeding these kids lies about the program, how he's going to develop them, etc.

I mean, look how many transfers you guys have of your blue chips. That should say it all.

LMAO landed the #1 ranked class in the country, but still insecure enough to let one recruit get to him.

ForeverDumbGator...no. But, if what you say were true, we're still beating your arses every year on the field with what we DO have!

It says that only the best can play at UGA. We’ve had 4 first rounders last two years and a couple coming this year, hows UF doing developing players and getting them drafted in first round?

UGA under Smart has been one of the winningest programs in America.

This is objectively false to the point of being a straight up lie.
