No, even though Kirby was born in AL and lived here for a while.

Kirby reportedly took a picture of our recruiting board before he left and tried to use that against us with recruits. Based on how/where they were rated.

He’d probably lose the A-Day game since it’s against Alabama.

It's unfathomably dumb. Saban didn't retire in 2016 and added 2 NCs. There's never a guarantee of success. Your hypothetical is full-on special ed.

My answer is probably yes. Georgia probably has a significantly worse decade and thus, Bama’s biggest competition is weakened

We also continue daddy dicking Tennessee and maybe solve the Jordan-Hare problem

I think this is how I would feel. Ideally Kirby would have kind of been an extension of Saban, except he’d have had the ability to cope with NIL and also 25 years younger or whatever.

No, but I really like Kirby. I couldn't give a shite less about the clapping thing. I thought it was hilarious. He really sold it.

Any Bama fans that are acting like they wouldn't have wanted him as our coach when Saban hung em up is either dumb, or lying.

It’s entirely possible that DeBoer may prove to be a very good coach too.

Deboer might be the best big game coach in the country. His legacy at Bama will come down to whether or not he loses one too many games against teams he had no business losing to. This is what Kirby doesn't do.

To his credit Deboer has passed the test in the last 2 games. Either one of those games could've been a Deboer letdown game. Maybe he's getting better and learning from past mistakes.

Call me a chump, call me whatever you want. I think doing the right thing is cool. I think having good morals is cool. I think it's easy in life to do the wrong thing and doing the right thing is difficult, so I admire the people who do the right things.

I also think it's cool to be intelligent, to help people and everything else the majority of society seems to think is for fools. I ain't about "getting mine" above all else, nor do I care about playing small and being silent for the comfort of others.

He should own up to it. It would go a long way in my book.

Not to mention it's fat Bert level desperation.

The defense has played better the lat few games but Jalen Milroe had a good game once in a while too

I think DeBoer may eventually need to replace a few coaches. The DLine coach played at Alabama and Saban apparently liked him but he may be a casualty too

I was referring to the posters that are acting like they'd never want anything to do with Kirby at Bama. I answered OP's question by saying "no."

No. Kirby had a 2-3 year Saban like stretch but not before or since. I wanted Saban for as long as we could have him.

many people (not internet posters, just humans in general) have a mental block on a particular topic and no facts or logic will ever top their own emotional feelings.

Bama fans LOVED kirby the entire time he was saban's right hand man. And I mean...why wouldn't they? He was putting up all-time defenses not seen in ages and recruiting stupidly elite talent year after year and title after title. As soon as he left and went to another SEC school though, he was now an opponent. And that's understandable to not be in love with the guy anymore. In 2016 UGA sucked arse and bama took kriby's talent and pruitt's coaching and turned in another elite year so there were still plenty of warm fuzzies for all the good things kirby did at bama. Then in 2017 when the title game went down to the wire and bama people saw that he was not sipmly a worthy adversary, but a bygosh honest to goodness THREAT to bama's success...that's when things turned for the majority, IMO.

Naaah, he’s from UGA originally and I would never have wanted a coach that wouldn’t stay with us very long biding time to go to their OG university. Ya know?

Yeah I'm not cool like that. I was very disappointed he did that because I had a generally good opinion him before then.

Fat Bert ruined my opinion of him when he faked getting hit by a player to draw a personal foul.

I'm not a big fan of flop culture either. I don't know why people find stuff like that acceptable. There is a difference between taking a charge and flopping. And now we are seeing that in football more too.

Kirby ran Saban's defense. Pruitt was a much better replacement. I wasn't happy to see Kirby go because he was there and no reason for change, but Pruitt getting hired by Tennessee was a bigger loss. Personally I think Fulmer hired him just to get him away from Alabama/Saban because he knew. Because you gotta be stupid to think he was HC material.

The only win Kirby has over Alabama was a rematch and Alabama having multiple injuries. That's football, but I don't know how you call l a 1-7 record a THREAT. fricking Heupal, has more wins than Kirby. BK, Lea Clark and BV all have better records against Alabama than Kirby.

And all you really did was replace Florida as our SECCG rival, who was a much better rival in terms of records. Georgia/Kirby are 0fer in that category.

Kirby would have been my first choice to replace Saban just because it would have been somewhat seamless. Kirby was able to do what many couldn't in how he copied Saban's process. But there isn't much of a real reason for any Alabama fan to hate Kirby.
