Honestly, Pretty good pick up. I'll even go as far as to say one of the better pick ups Smart has made.

He was USCe's recruiting coordinator, I believe.

Solid hire for sure. Some gamecock fans are enamored with him and even wanted him looked at as HC. I think he is a solid staff member, but think SC fans loved him simply because he isn't Steve Jr, and was the RC before Steve Jr. ran the program down the drain from a talent standpoint.

For some it will never end.
Certain Arkansas fans just hate for a coach to be successful elsewhere.
I thought several might have an stroke when Gus made the SECCG. Most Arky fans are not that bad, but the few can really make up for the lack of quantity with holding a grudge.

Was hoping he would come back to Columbia with Muschamp, but not at all surprised to see him with Kirby.
Can't say anything about his ability to coach TEs, but he did a good job as recruiting coordinator here.
As has been mentioned, there's a bit of garnet glasses with him, but it's not a coincidence that the program faltered when Spurrier let him go.
