Dude, use your head for once and think about it. Yes the FBI isn't going to leak information but when have you seen them investigate something like this before? They didn't jump into this based on rumors or accusations or certainly not because the NCAA asked them to. They had to have stumbled across something that would really get their attention. Something that was credible that could easily lead to a prosecution. Once they get started, the FBI is not going to sit on information like the NCAA. They don't care if they wreck the whole sport, they will find all the wrongdoers and go after them like hells bells.
Now think about Auburn. This is the program we saw on 60 minutes less than 20 years ago. For paying lots of players. Under the watch of Pat Dye. Paid with money rounded up by Bobby Lowder. If Terry Bowden is to be believed, this practice kept right on going after the NCAA sanctions. Auburn is a program who went from 25th to 1st in recruiting rankings in 1 year. This coming after a 7-5 season when their in-state rival won the national championship. All of the top recruits in that number 1 class had a last minute change of heart and all but Cam spurned they home state team. How could they pull that off?
Now how big of a coincidence is it that Milton McGregor was just indicted? He is one of Auburn's inner circle, a board of trustees member, $1MM + contributor, and close friend of the ringleaders (Lowder & Dye). He was even the second largest shareholder at Colonial. How big of a coincidence is it that he was indicted based on wiretaps that ran right through recruiting season? IF AU was paying players, what are the chances that uncle Milton was not only uninvolved, but didn't communicate about it to anyone?
The rumors may be exaggerated, but the FBI brings a monstrous smoke cloud when it comes to town. The plains are indeed a 'burnin.

agreed. but you have to admit, the circumstantial evidence that cam newton was paid for is overwhelming. the "set-up" with auburns BOT, rekindled relationship with pat dye, a convicted cheater, depositions that cecil newton was asking for money, etc. it definately appears that newton went to the highest bidder and auburn looks like it. the chance that auburn is innocent is very slim indeed. the chances of not getting caught? with the FBI involved; very slim indeed.

This is nothing against AU. I really don't give a rat's arse what happens to AU. I just think Cam and his dad are simply lying about this whole thing. They just do not seem like trustworthy people.

Im not so naive as to think that none of these allegations are true. If in fact any of it is true, punishment needs to be inforced soon. Set an example once again on what happens if you shop players, and cheat to win games. Yes, playing with an ineligible player in my book is cheating no matter how you try to spin it. Auburn without Cam, in my opinion, is probably 4th in the west. LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, MSU, Ole Miss. Just saying.....

Are you that suprised, we as a nation elected a president because of Ophra, CNN, and the internet. It's like the Tiger Woods story now.

There's no better example of how Americans can be simple-minded than how they blindly believe things they read on the net.
Kind of like what Auburn fans do with everything Jeff Lee, Phillip Marshall, Charles Goldberg, and Kevin Scarbinsky write?
Couldnt have said it better myself.
Nothing to see here folks lets move along....

Appearances can be deceiving.
I'm not saying he hasn't been, but I am a skeptical person by nature. I don't normally accept heresay or conjecture.
But anything your side puts out there is pure fact? Are you "sleptical" about the auburn spin cam wasnt paid when in fact your past says you have paid players?

If Auburn did not have a past history of pay for play and if Cam Newton had not left Florida under the circumstances in which he left, I don't think everybody outside of "the family" would be so quick to judge.

The Auburn fanbase should be considered simple minded according to your viewpoint. Cecil only shopped his son to MSU
No matter what comes out(and while it all isn't fact or proven) the most likely outcome is there will be alot more bad than good. Auburn fans keep saying he is innocent....if your not simple minded you would reasonably assume that some of this is true and some isn't. I haven't seen a group of people defend someone so vigorously since OJ.

The barners are in some serious denial. I probably would be too if I were them. Just sure as he'll glad I'm not.

And the OP is basing all of his disbelief of what is going on by internet reports. We're all guilty here ahab.

Auburn just can't help but cheat huh? You remember that thread you started this summer about how dirty Alabama's football program is? "The dark side of Alabama football"?
Auburn is the dirtiest program in CFB.

Auburn is the dirtiest program in CFB.

First off there is not such thing as luck. Secondly if you are speaking of the close calls that LSU has had, I don't recall AU blow the doors of the competition either.

Here is the deal. When there is smoke there is usually fire and it looks like we are in Ricky Williams Austin apartment right now. So if AU fans (not necessarily you) think that with all the shite that has come out that no of it is true. I think you need to reevaluate who is blind.

Where there's smoke, you'll probably find some FIRE and trust me there's some fire. We'll see
