To be fair this is all too new to say for sure if it's sustainable year after year, but the early returns aren't good. Mich State was a one year flash in the pan, (not a huge flash, just better than their average) coach Primes mercenary squad faded down the stretch and even FSU had quite a few portal guys...most of which opted out of the Bowl game and won't be back next year. I'm in wait and see mode with the Fightin' Freshwaters, but it seems like a one and done type thing...assuming it works of course.

Bro, you can't say at this point that what Lane is doing is a Michigan State situation. Lane just won 11 games before his mercenaries come.

Pull your head out of the sand dude! Kiffin is being rather deliberate with who he selects in the portal. It isn’t about money and he has been the Portal King 2 of 3 years and about to add another. Last year we took close to 30 portal players. This year will be about half that. However do you know who are portal players:
Jaxson Dart
U. Bentley
JJ Pegues
J Ivey
C Preiskorn
J Watkins
T Harris
TJ Dudley
None of them opted out and they are all starters returning for 2024. It is about getting kids as Golding said “that love to play football” and not “what football can do for them”. Sure we have had 3 portal failures in three years but you likely have that same number in HS recruits.

This isn’t the first time we portaled hard. We have been doing this for the past 3 years….he has it down pretty good and so does our collective.
