LSU has won two National Championships this decade.. Florida has won 2...Alabama was undefeated until the SECCG....LSU, Florida and Alabama have great instate talent, plus KIDS WANT TO PLAY FOR A WINNER...and these schools right now are as hot as anybody, Kiffin isn't going to win big his first year, but look at the recruiting job he did from December 1 on..and he didn't even have a complete staff until after the first of the year.

Monte can coach, so can Willie Mack Garza, "O", Thompson, Chaney was the OC at Purdue when Dree Brees and Orton put up all those crazy numbers, Mitch Browning came from Syracuse as a GA..he was offensive line coach at Minnesota when they had Lawrence Maroney and Marion Barber, Eddie Gran coached some great backs at Ole Miss and Auburn for Tuberville.

They haven't played a game yet and they pulled in the number #1 player in the country, and while everybody harps on the QB situation..Nick Stephens was injured most of the spring and has the strongest arm of the qb's and was a late bloomer in High school in Texas...

UT has an AWESOME out of conference schedule starting next year...and in the next few years has games with Oklahoma and Oregon plus LSU, and an improved Ole Miss team plus always Florida, Georgia and Alabama..

The SEC is no cakewalk anymore. Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Vandy were all considered "GIMMES" on the schedule...No More.

I think Kiffin will win..Give him time..He is getting the players..I think he has surrounded himself with enough GOOD coaches so he can't screw it up..Hopefully...

I'm with you and sincerely hope ya'll make a come-back. you play Bama, UGA and UF every yr. and that is selfish reason enough. my question to you is how you just make a flat out statement about the coaching ability of the new staff? I know these guys can recruit. Other than Monte, i question the others coaching abilities and Lane K.s as well. just sayin'

Chaney's record speaks for itself..When he was at Purdue look at the numbers the offense put up..Mich Browning is a great offensive line coach..He goes back to North Carolina State when Monte was head coach there..Eddie Gran is a good coach ( he has had his share of great backs)...Willie Mack Garza was considered one of the up and coming defensive back coaches in the nation at TCU before he had "his problem" and spent the last couple of years at North Dakota State ( I know Monte wanted him because of his knowledge of the Tampa Two)...Bebe you can say what you want..He can recruit and everywhere he has been they have had GREAT defensive linemen from Miami to USC to Ole Miss....Reaves I have my doubts about..Frank Wilson was hired for his recruiting..and Thompson for his recruiting...Chaney and "O" spent time in the NFL as did Monte, and Tackles and Tight End coach James Cregg..

Kiffin and this staff will get the players..give it time..

If what he did at Oakland is any indication how he runs a team I would say they will be on top and stay on top from now till the end of time. Not only is Kiffin UTKs coach but he is also Gods coach. The man an do no wrong.

I think that coaching staff will implode. There are too many egos and too much pressure. Look for one or two of them to leave after the first season and badmouth Kiffin on the way out.

Couldn't disagree more--this is the 2nd worst SEC FB HC hiring behind the Webels skip-promoting Coach O from position coach to HC.

Only difference is UThug has WAY more resources, so even he won't be able to prevent winning 6-8 games each year.

How this guy conned them into hiring him is beyond belief, and he'll set that program back at least 3 years.

before he's ever coached a game, he's the 2nd worst hire ever?

I'm going to have to wait a few years before I am ready to make a statement like that. As an LSU fan, I hope you are wrong. It would be nice to see another team contend with UF (and UGA) in the East.

I think UT will get back on track DESPITE having Kiffin as a coach. They have one mighty talented defense and a handful of good specialist coaches.

Believe me, I hope I'm wrong since LSU needs a strong UThug to offset the advantage the Bammers currently have with them vs. the LSU/UF yearly wars.

Yeah, it would be nice having this happen. I love the UF/LSU series, but it is not entirely "fair" if you know what I mean. Regardless, I am glad we play UF every year and would never want it any other way. A win over them and a win in the seccg in the same season almost guarantees a spot in the bcs title game.

The amount of kool-aid Tenn fans are drinking is amazing. Good luck. Bryce Brown will not save your program. Kiffin is hoping all those assistance can save his pampered arse.

+1

You have a staff of good collegiate recruiters. No one knows a damn thing about their coaching yet, good or bad.

I must admit, I find Kiffin to be entertaining. An arrogant a-hole who it seems would be a lot of to beat. I hope he does well so we get a chance to do just that.

Hey, some Tennessee fans say this is the best staff in the country before they've even coached a game.
