Huh? They don't rank teams, they reflect perception of matchups.

And they're very accurate, but worth noting that they're almost always favoring the favorites in college, which are determined by ... you guessed it, polls.

BIG should ensure all teams play a P4 non conference game like the SEC.
Only fair given SEC matched the 9 game conference schedule

Ultimately it doesn’t matter where we are ranked at this point. A first round by would be nice, but if we didn’t have it, we would need to win anyway so what’s the point? Be in the sec, win every game, and you will finish ranked first. Life is great. We don’t need a second or first (or even a third) place ranking right now to feel good about ourselves. That’s the stupid “print the cups” culture everyone makes fun of us for. Just win

Perhaps the SEC shouldn’t have added Texas if they wanted to keep dominating OSU? Or keep Tennessee in Neyland for the playoff game

No problem with them being number 1; better results than tOSU

We all do. I don’t have respect for Iowa as a “power program”. They are basically Kentucky but with a weaker schedule. I think Oregon is obviously good but I don’t think we know if it’s top 15 good or top 5 good yet. That schedule just isn’t very good this year. Moore reminds a little of Nico in that he’s got a great arm and will shred man coverage but to me he doesn’t seem to have great feel for how to layer balls between zones yet. I will definitely be interested to see Oregon go up against some of the big boys in the SEC. Lanning is doing a really nice job

Kiffen wants the Ags 1 so he would not play them until the final.

Ole Miss looks to be locked in as the 6 seed.

VERY good chance Texas will end up with 4 losses, and at LEAST 3, so that is not as impressive as it was once thought.

Don't misunderstand. I think Texas has a very good team, but their loss to Florida was horrendous and has to raise questions. And their preseason Heisman candidate has not performed at anywhere close to Heisman levels.

Kudos to Ohio State and Texas for scheduling each other in what seemed to be a huge matchup at the time. If Texas can manage to beat Georgia and Texas A&M, Texas will recover some of the lost shine.

A&M and OSU are by far the two best teams I've seen this year. A&M has a better SOS so I would have to agree they deserve it.

You may not want the layover. None of the 4 bye teams won last year.

OSU hasn’t played anyone. Barely beat a god awful Texas team at the time

Put us at #12 then…then let’s hear the carnage from the #5 and #1 team that will have to play us earlier in the playoffs

All this gnashing of teeth about schedules and rankings is total bullshite.

Roll the balls out at the beginning of the games and see who's standing at the end.

There's your fricking rankings.

Texas is a top 10 or 11 team this moment.

It doesn’t matter though. If you watch football for any amount of time, OSU looks like the best team.

When all is said and done, Ohio State will play Michigan and undefeated Indiana. They will be #1.

Texas A&M will probably lose. There you go.

They are in that they both throw very flat hard balls. I don’t think I’m the first person to observe that

Moore can drive the ball but he hit a nice sail route to his TE in the last game in zone coverage with nice touch. I thought you watched the game.

Yeah he can drive it. He doesn’t work the middle of the field well partially because of what I mentioned.

Oregon has a disjointed passing game.

I don’t trust the current WRs with all the injuries.
