This is worth it just to see all the backpedaling that Alabama fans are about to do.

I gotta find me some 2009 stuff.

What is my interpretation? Saban himself said it wasn't a big deal and couldn't understand why anyone cared because it was just professional development like they always do.

Your quote of Saban:

"The 38-year-old Kiffin visited with Alabama coach Nick Saban before the Allstate Sugar Bowl 'to share ideas and exchange ideas ... [for] professional development,'"

Again where is the lie? Was Kiffin interviewing for the job at this time? Was he offered the job at this time? Was the job even available at this time? (Obviously you don't know these answers, but to prove Saban was lying you would have to know these answers so that's why I'm asking you rhetorically.) Even if the answers to these questions are yes, still nothing Saban said was lie. You are REALLY stretching here for some reason. Gotta go.

And kids like to think that the guy they make a connection with will be around for their time on campus. That will not be the case with him. This is not a long term stop for him.

I doubt he's gonna be saying, "Well yeah, I'm gone after this season."

Hell, Saban was recruiting right up until he left LSU on Christmas Day.

Intentional misleading is the same as a lie.

quote:

"I can't believe there's been any reaction to it," Saban said of having Kiffin to Tuscaloosa. "Just about every year we have coaches come in and do what we call 'professional development-type things.' We exchange ideas.

"Oklahoma's staff has been here before for practice. Tom Moore, who was a longtime coordinator in the NFL, has been here on several occasions to just visit with our coaches, give us new ideas, brainstorm with us.

"To do it, though, the person can't be coaching any place right now or they've got other things to do."

Yes.

I like it.

A bad head coach, a very good coordinator. I think he'll do quite well, and I'm sure he's been humbled by the debacle at USC.

That goes both ways. I mean if Kiffin leaves after this year I doubt anyone in T-town is going to riot

o maybe there was something to the rumors about Saban being unhappy at Bama and looking to go to Texas. But then he decided the best way to screw with yall would not be to leave but to lose the Ironbowl and let your rival win a NC, Stick it to yall for more money and then set the program on fire. He is a crafty little guy.

Dude I hate Bama and think 90% of their fan base are terrible, terrible human beings...but please tell me you don't believe this.

Can't over-emphasize how little exposure Kiffin will get at Alabama. Nussmeier talked to reporters 4 times in 2 years.

Hearing a lot of current 'Bama kids on offensive side of ball are extremely excited about Lane Kiffin being hired. #Bama @247sports

Lane Kiffin as your coach? Run. Lane Kiffin muzzled to media with weapons and able to recruit? Yes.

I don't need to prove it. It is pretty apparent that he was.
