The melt would understandably be memorable from Ole Miss fans if Kiffin leaves.

But the melt might be even more legendary from Florida fans if Kiffin doesn’t arrive.

My perspective is more of Lane Kiffin will leave. Not necessarily for Florida, but he will leave.

Whelp, that settles it. Lane's going to Gainesville. Probably will announce tomorrow and be coaching in Florida by their next game. They'll win out and make the playoffs. It'll be the greatest turnaround ever.

It's consistent behavior when he's left/strongly considered leaving (2022) in his career

After the season LSU fans have had, you would think the football Gods would give us this one small gift.

What? We were close to the playoffs last year and were hot in the hunt this year.

I don't think he will leave but if he did, to wherever, with a salary at $9.5mm and I would assume incentives, they have demonstrated they have commitment and desire to spend whatever it takes to fill that stadium. The race is getting hard to keep up with for lots of schools but with that commitment, there is a diamond in the rough that Ole Miss would secure. I can only wish that State had that kind of support. But, I hate the NIL and I hate the portal so State will have to find money other than mine. The multiple reviews and referees plus the same 4 commercials every 3 minutes has really made this stuff hard to watch.
Rant over !

Were? Still are, as far as I can tell.

Again, in today’s college football landscape, if you’re in the top 25-30 in team talent, you have a shot. There’s not a clear separation in programs anymore.

Based on what? No team that low has won a natty.

Currently ranked 8th... and beat LSU with that "not even top 20 in team talent".

FInished inside top 10 or 15 every year since 2021 with that "not even top 20 in team talent".

So there's that.

Sure, but you aren't actually contending for natties.

He may leave; he maybe un-stoppable at Florida. He may want that. They may give him a lifetime contract as the highest paid coach in the country.

Even so; he should stay at Ole Miss. Given his past, just laid out in a documentary. Everyone praised him for opening up. What he has done to 180 his personal life, how the people of Ole Miss and Oxford have embraced him.

Why do that to yourself? Why put your self inside a toxic (Florida isn’t the only one, there are plenty in this league; including my school UGA) fanbase like that? When you are happy!

He might leave; I would not!

He wanted to be like Spurrier at one point. Maybe he wants to hang out with the Head Ball Coach and draw plays up in the dirt. Used to have a home in Florida. Who's to say he doesn't want to go back and retire there.

He can’t retire there? Once he retires?
Why does he have to be spurrier at UF ?why can’t he be Kiffin at Ole Miss?

The thing is he can never be spurrier at UF, SOS won the freaking Heisman there.

If he wins the Natty at Ole Miss they won’t just build a statue; they might just rename the School, or change the mascot, or change the name of the town.

All he said was he wanted to be like him at one point. People are drawn to the places where their heroes and role models roamed. Maybe roaming the Florida sideline in the Swamp would mean something to him.

How many schools are truly places where you can win a national title? He's already done USC. I can't see him in Baton Rouge. Miami isn't open. Georgia has a lifetime coach. Bama is settled now. Florida is open and is one of those schools.
