Why are we still talking about this?

Because the logical conclusion about why the best player on the field was hit illegally

It was a bounty hit called by the coaches

15 didnt just decide to blitz then on his own

77 is just as dirty

one reason for all of this - saban

It is forcible contact to the neck or head of a defenseless player. Yes the facemask hit his chest, but the top of his helmet hit JD's head. It is 100% a targeting.
100%.

I didn’t realize it being a penalty or not was being disputed.

But illegal hit doesn’t necessarily mean dirty hit. Although I think Dallas clearly launched into him and didn’t really need to. This wasn’t the same as a DB hitting a WR…

He is a DE/OLB rushing the passer on a pass play

You would think the hardest hitting LBer on his college team would understand more about the game you fraud.

Sorry Dallas Turner hit the skinny QB too hard for the hardest hitting linebacker on his college team

CSG, you are tarnishing your stellar poster reputation defending that position. Reading through the targeting rule that play checked every box that applied even by neutral viewer standards.

This has been my impression for a long time. Bama DB went after JD on the ground last year in Tiger Stadium but it wasnt targeting… because he missed him.

Turner didn't even land on him. Turned his body to avoid it.

Bottom line - Louisiana swamp trash are the only people talking about this play. Literally nobody else in the country is giving it a second thought. Gotta give those cajun media personalities credit, though, they know how to love on the Tigah fans.

It was reviewed during the injury timeout. That’s been verified by Brian Kelly. He asked for it to be.

Did it cost his team a timeout?

nope, it doesn't. not calling it targeting in the game doesn't change the outcome of it. I know that, along with any reasonable person. the problem people have is the consistency of the targeting calls. we've see targeting called for WAY less than what occurred saturday. the hit saturday checked every box for targeting. it's the inconsistency of these officials.

Can you take that up with Brian Kelly and maybe HE can take it up with the SEC officials?

I haven't seen where BK has said a word about this. It's like Lane Kiffin gives more of a shite than Brian Kelly.

I think this the first time I've seen this in slow motion.

Turner drug his tippy toes on the turf the entire time, the toes of his cleats never left the ground. Now, he did curl his body inward and he wrapped up JD with both arms, but he didn't intentionally or forcefully launch from his legs, use the crown of his helmet as a missile or leave the ground to drive JD into the dirt.
