Lane is going to resign with ole miss next week

What head coach will actually resign from his #6 team in the middle of a college playoff run to accept a job with a team that is not even CFP ranked?

Re-sign. My apologies.

I’m saying he will be back at ole Miss, not resigning and taking the UF job.

Haha very funny that Florida thinks they have that kind of leverage.. They will wait and do whatever Kiffin ask of them to do.. This is your problem Florida you jump into these hirings and firings way too fast and looks where its got you.. The AD and the rest of the athletic department need to get thicker skin and get off social media and stop listening to the fans expectations.. Gator fans think Tim Tebow's grow on trees and it's the last 5 coaches fault he hasn't found another one

Or what.

Or he stays at Ole Miss and has a very successful long term run as the OM head coach.

No he was not. That's a ludicrous approach. Wait, y'all have Scott Stricklin. That is a real possibility for him to screw up a football coach search.

There are many coaches out there Florida could get. It does not have to be Lane.

Blake Ruffino said a well known west coast coach wants to get out of the state he is in and may be talking to Florida.

That is all Blake said.

Probably a good offensive mind because Gators like that. They can hire a good DC, give him resources, and field a good defense when they want to. Good players down there.

You can only give an "ultimatum" from a position of strength, which Florida does not have regardless of fan delusions.

Anyone who’s made corporate hiring decisions has likely given a time parameter for making a decision to a candidate.

You have candidate A who gets 3 days after which the offer is revoked and you go on to candidate B.

Doesn’t mean you get candidate A, but it’s very common for time to be stipulated on an offer.

Here is the bottom line that Gators don't want to understand.

Stricklin can't wait for Lane to finish playing before he makes a decision. He can't wait until Christmas or early January to make a move.

He needs to know if Lane would be willing to publicly make an announcement after the regular season. If Lane isn't willing to do that he needs to move to other options. It isn't feasible to hire a coach in January. Especially firing your coach and your whole roster as free agents at the end of the season.

It is public knowledge Striklin doesn't like Lane as a person. The boosters want Lane. This to me is Striklin appeasing the boosters so he can go to option B and move down the list.
