Leach obviously flashing a sign of the resistance going with the “nose exposed” look.

It's racist bro

Well Mississippi is regarded as America's most racist state so I guess it fits.

Regardless of if that is true, it is fairly worthless being that long ago. I have hard time believing that though. I haven't looked though so that might be true.

You could give me almost any issue that has been argued in the past and I can create a slippery slope argument against it. Off the top of my head marijuana is one of many.

Meh, it wasn't even a full generation so to suggest its "fairly worthless" is somewhat disingenuous.

I dont know, there's a pretty decent push going on right now to stop prosecuting drug crime.

The same people who want to change the flag.
This will not change that.

It doesn't have to be a full generation for me to arrive at that. We change our opinions on things a lot faster than 20 years in many cases. That is why I think it is fairly worthless. But I don't oppose a state wide vote so this whole thing is kind of pointless.

Eh, depends on what drug and its more about easing the punishment than stopping it as a whole.
And if you really wanted to you could try to trace that back to medical marijuana being something that was accepted in states. Do you think medical marijuana shouldn't be legal in places because of the slippery slope?

No, it’s to protect the minority from the “tyranny of the majority”.
There are tons of examples why direct democracies are bad. It’s not just a practicality thing.

Sounds like you're afraid Mississippians would vote to keep the current flag.

Not at all. I just think it’s a way for the cowardly politicians to not go on record and do what’s right.

Either way, I believe the pressure will eventually be too high and it will get changed.
I just wish they'd come up with some better alternative designs.

Laughing at you is not melting, sport. Your premise is incorrect along with questions unanswered.

What about the same state flag as Georgia has but with the State seal of Mississippi in the upper left hand corner. There's no way Mr. Sankey and the NCAA could have an issue with that, right???

This is a great question I have wondered about so I am interested in your opinion. I am for the flag being changed which to me seems an obvious position given the flag wasn’t even a confederate flag That flew during Civil wartime but a Dixiecrat flag put in during Jim Crow times if I am correct there (haven’t thoroughly researched it).
Does the fact that that there was an abolitionist movement mean the North’s general population was not all in and outraged on slavery enough For some so that the abolitionist movement needed to be created? For example the Tea Party movement exists because the conservative general population is not laissez faire enough for some. Honest question here in the interest of healthy debate.

The only reason any of these guys are in Mississippi is because they came there to make an obscene salary in the poorest state in the country.
Just for that reason alone i would tell both of them to kiss my arse.
If they don't like it they could go find a real job clerking in a store for $10/hr.
