I belong to the same country club as Sumlin and have been to multiple events where he was at as well and can tell you I have never even seen him have a drink. That old video was debunked. Good try though.

The people at UT are fricking morons if they dont hire Sumlin.

0-6 vs Daddy...SUMLIN SWOON !

So he will have made around $30m or so when this is all said and done, meaning he'll pocket around $15m for 6yrs work, which is $2.5m per yr. Really tough to drum up a lot of sympathy there.

The "Houston Country Club" perhaps? The place the infamous letter came from?

Sumlin couldn’t get a membership there

Fisher is using TAMU as leverage to get better facilities and more money from FSU. TAMU is getting played here. And the winner of this game is Jimbo Fisher and Jimmy Sexton.
Unless FSU calls the bluff, timing isn't that great for a Sexton special.

There is no logical reason fisher would turn down A&Ms offer
I’m not a fan of the hire but he’s gonna take the money

if FSU doesn't bow down and anti up, it is certainly in play if not likely.

They won’t pony up
They would have to match 7 years at 50 million, they won’t be able to get their power brokers anywhere near that.
And fisher and his agent know that if he has another mediocre year no one will be offering big money

can't disagree, but the other consideration is the market... if FSU doesn't have another viable option/replacement they may be leveraged into bowing down.
This shite is outta control, going to be fun to watch the next few years, someone is going to get corrected and it's not going to be pretty.

There is no doubt that we are about to over pay for a coach

I don't think the salaries are the issue so much as it's the guarantees.
People talk about Sumlin's, but Charlie Weis scenario was worse in my opinion relative to the big picture.. dude was pulling checks from everybody.
Dumping an extra $10-20M every four years to finance the coaches carousel is nuts, these donors didn't get wealthy from being dumb or abused in negotiations.. it'll change.
