Quick quiz (without looking)

#1 Where did Bear Bryant come from

#2 How many seasons was he at UK

#3 What was his record by season over that time?
a) 10+ win seasons
b) 8+ win seasons
c) 7 or fewer win seasons

#4 How many times did he beat Tennessee in his tenure at UK?

#5 Was the lighter / cadillac story serious, or did it start out as "cocktail" humor?

But seriously, UK is a basketball school first and foremost. Nothing wrong with that but you have a very long way to go as far as football goes in the SEC. Hope you get there one day, that would be great for the conference but you need to expect a long process and a long/relentless effort by your administration. Good luck against Louisville, I'll be pulling for the Cats

It's not a hook. It's an Auburn fan that can't stop talking about Arkansas.

Seriously, last game I went to at CS, they announced first downs like they were touchdowns. Might want to consider not getting so excited about moral victories.
Other than that -- ditch some of those sidewalk fans that act like basketball bammers -- wont help in football but cant hurt overall perception!

You mean the same game were it took Cam the last drive to beat Kentucky?

If I recall, UK about ended Cammy Cam Juice dreams in that stadium…and yes, there were a lot of "First Down Kentucky" in that game…because Auburn defense could not stop us.

no == not that game, but key word for you= "about".

Sums up UK football "about, almost, nearly"

ho hum
Proves my point about celebrating moral victories

There's a large contingent of our fan base, myself included, that are football first. We're slowly making our voiced heard.

There's a reason that Joker was fired so quickly. We do care. Idiots will never understand that though.

Kind of like every small, and rare, victory that you have over big brother Bama?

You make me laugh. Don't talk about football until your team learns to play the game. Enjoy your basketball.

First down Kentucky! "We almost, nearly, about beat you!"

This still doesn't excuse the lost to Western Kentucky. Just think about the money and recruiting gap between Western Kentucky and Kentucky.

Randall Cobb beat you not so long ago. Anything is possible...

But now we're pulling in top 25 classes. Louisville and WKU aren't. That counts.

French Military Victories, Los Angeles Clipper HOF Ceremonies and modern UK Football belong in the same thread.

The recent streak finally broken against UT was amazing. Tulane loses to LSU for 25 years straight because one school unilaterally decided to make entrance exams apply to all students. UK had no such excuse. It's almost impossible to be that bad that long without supernatural help.

UK can only stay bad or improve, there is no third option.

I think Kentucky should try to schedule Cincinnati annually. Could be a nice little rivalry and UK could make even more in roads into recruiting Ohio.

They had a history going back to 1894 but ended in 1996 (C M Newton's watch as AD)

UK stopped playing Louisville in 1924 and started up again in 1994 (C M newton's watch)

My guess is UK dropped UC to pick up UL, which is too bad if true. UK has also dropped longtime OOC rival, Indiana to play schools like Western Kentucky.

I agree that playing Cincinnati and Indiana would help UK's recruiting north of the Ohio Ocean.

At least, when and if the new super division of college football forms, schools will no longer be able to play teams like WKU. Unfortunately, if this does happen, a school like Cincinnati may get left out in the cold. Who is going to take them into a power conference?
