Do they pack to defend themselves from football players?

Texas student activists pack dildos. The first game between our 2 schools should be interesting.

OK. I may have laughed a little at that. I'll give you props for the sense of humor.

I bet half the students on campus aren't bringing guns to a party to show how tough they are because someone dissed them

I'm a little surprised that the chapter has allowed the fraternity to continue to push this to court in the first place. I'd think the chapter would want to go low key and stay out of the headlines with this incident, but obviously not.

It’s SAE. That’s the slimiest fraternity at UK. This link shows the spoiled shits that some in this thread are defending. It also illustrates why the fraternity lodged a charge of burglary. They have their own history with the crime.

According to the incident report, Lexington police are pursuing warrants for burglary in the first degree. LPD spokesperson Brenna Angel said criminal complaints for second-degree burglary have been filed for three individuals: David Roth, Dylan Carrington and Colin Malloy.

There’s zero evidence that anyone brought a gun to the party. With the ubiquity of cell phone cameras, you’d think someone would have snapped a pic. Nope.

I'm not sure you know what evidence means. Because a picture with a cell phone wasn't taken doesn't mean there's no evidence. They wouldn't have charged them with bringing a gun to the party without evidence of a gun being at the party. Eye witness testimony/statements are types of evidence too.

Correct. Not sure where the SAE came from. It was Alpha Sig.

Dude, it's Kentucky. There are more guns than people and half of the students who live on campus has one.

And we don’t have to get any kind of permit for them, even concealed carry.

Correct. Having one on your person isn't a problem. Brandishing it however is most definitely against the law.

Yes you do. Kentucky allows open carry without a permit. Concealed carry requires a permit, and you have tio be 21 to get a CCP in Kentucky. Brandishing a firearm in the course of a burglary, however, is illegal and why they were charged with a aggravated burglary

You’re wrong. Kentucky still issues CC permits as a courtesy for Kentuckians who travel out of state.

quote:

Kentucky is now a permitless carry state so concealed carry is legal for anyone at least 21 years old who can legally possess a firearm without a license/permit.

I'm curious, do students at UK carry guns on them as they go back and forth across campus or only in their dorms? I'm not against the second amendment, so this isn't me being negative.

It’s wanton endangerment if it happened. There’s just too much hearsay involved in this story for me to think that it happened as the fraternity members told it. If it does play out in court, it will certainly cause public perception damage to everyone involved.

There’s ZERO got damn proof there was a gun! That’s the only reason this is a story. Someone is pissed that they got their arse beat and decided they were going to make a mountain out of a mole hill so they said “he had a gun”. It’s funny that not one other member of the fraternity or the football team have said there was a gun involved. Only one person.

Here is the university’s official policy.

Well, that’s an about-face. You had convinced me that you were here just to stir things up. Most of us Kentuckians are very conservative and when someone appears to attack our values, we resist.

Fair enough, but none of those players were 21 years old

how do yuo figure? Witness said there was a gun. That's evidence there was a gun. Believe it or not, most crimes don't have photographic evidence of the crime taking place.

and you know this how? Police haven't disclosed all of the details of their investigation that has been going on since March when this happened. I haven't seen a single report that says it was just one person who said a gun was invovled. The reports say one person was pointing a gun, not one person reported seeing that
