Yeah. What difference could our starting qb have made over someone who has never taken a snap.

The UK run game vs the UT front 7 is one of the most interesting match ups to me. If UK can win that then they can make it interesting. If UT bottles it up or limits them in that area then it could be a long day for UK's hope at ball controll and playing keep away

Yep. For us to win, we have to have a good day running the ball. And not turning it over while running with it.

I saw the emotion UK played with against USC. I saw what happened when Levis got knocked out against State then how the team responded when he ran back on the field.

It would have been a different game. You may still have won, but it would have been a different game.

I think the key is getting a few stops, laying some hits on Hooker. We've had to win these games under the pressure of scoring almost every drive. That feels unsustainable. Yet, we keep doing it. I think we will have a bad game offensively somewhere. We will need the defense to step up that game to something better than what it has been.

Our offense hasn't shown that it can compete in a high scoring game. Our Oline just isn't good enough, and Levis tends to hold onto the ball too long.

I am interested in seeing if our defense can slow down Hooker at least some to keep the score manageable. We'll see.

Agree. The Kats could possibly exploit our depleted secondary.
Although both teams are different from last year, Stoops slowed the game down, kept the ball out of our offensive hands and dang near beat us. I don't know if he will change his strategy this year. I think Levis threw for almost 400 yards last year.

We had the ball 45 minutes last year and lost. Our secondary can't let them run free down the middle wide fricking open.

Our O-line looks better with C-Rod back. So are they improving or do our other backs suck?

UT will have to help us for us to win and we have to play our best game of the year.

I hate to say it but those Orange Bastards are good.

That offensive line is about fourth on the list of problems for Kentucky's offense.

Number One - Rich Scangarello. Both his play calls and system.

Number Two - Will Levis. His refusal this year to pull down the ball late in the play, and his insistence on "making a play" when none is there.

Number Three - The Running Back room. They have two really good speed backs that can not run through any contact. And two backs, Rodriguez and McClain, that can. Scangarello just "discovered" McClain last week.

Number Four - The Offensive Line. Specifically, their inability to run a bunch of different offensive line schemes, which is how the pros do it.

I watched that offensive line, against South Carolina, create a push on runs against a nine man front. Yes, nine men in the box, in obvious on their own goal line run situations. The biggest problem is not the offensive line.

This is key. We have to get some stops and create a turnover or two. Which will be tough because Hooker doesn't give it away alot.

We can't give the ball away in absolute dumbass ways like we have all season.

We've gotta get points every drive. Stoops will be dead set on owning TOP but that doesn't mean shite if we come up short in the red zone. Look no further than last year's game. The disparity on TOP was huge. Tennessee is gonna get some points, if we can bend but not break and keep them in front of us, we've got the offensive weaponry.

Truthfully it seems like we're always flat off a bye week under Stoops. I don't know if the number bare that out but it sure seems like it. This would be an ideal time to come out with a fire under our arse.

TOP doesn't matter against UT. If he's dead set in owning it then he's already making dumb decisions.

It wouldn't have mattered much.

And it wouldn't. If Alabama couldn't shut down our run and short pass game enough to play loose on our receivers, neither will Kentucky, with or WITHOUT Jones.

And that's the crux of the whole question. So yes, it wouldn't have mattered.

What an ignorant, deaf and dumb statement.

Of COURSE they will exploit our depleted secondary. Everyone does. But that won't have anything to do with who wins the game. That just has a bearing on whether they lose by 14 or 40.

They HAVE TO STOP OUR RUN GAME AND SHORT PASSING GAME WITHOUT CHEATING THE SECONDARY UP AND IN.

That's it. End of thread. All the rest of this chit chat is just football-illiterate jaw yapping.

It's like none of you have watched the games.

OK, I take that back. One of you has watched the games.

That and playing keep away are going to be key. In all reality it's the same game plan as last year.

To me, the biggest differences between this year's game and last year's game are:

1. The UK OL which was a huge factor in the last meeting seems to have taken a step back with some big departures
2. The UT offense has taken another step forward
3. The UT Front 7 has taken another step forward

Tennessee is scoring on average 50.1 ppg right now with the #1 Strength of record in the country through week 9

Kentucky is scoring on average 26.4 ppg right now with a #30 strength of record in the country through week 9

Tennessee is giving up 23.1 ppg (This was 17.8 ppg before Alabama hung 49 on us)

Kentucky is giving up 16.4 ppg

That's a pretty big disparity. Cats need to find some offense and play their best game of the year.

Our O-line is playing really well. They have been giving Hooker time against some good defenses.

Hooker+our receivers+plenty of time is scary for any opposing team.

Our run defense is number 8 in the nation. We can get pressure. Young ran for his life all night in the Bama game.

Will Levis must be able to throw under pressure and on the run or UK will have a very hard time scoring. Three and out is deadly against UT. We can score quick.

Our weak pass defense is Kentucky's salvation in this game.
