I mean, ya, it's possible. Even more so with pac disbanding like you said. So maybe not as politically difficult than before.
The biggest detriment will be overall records and conference records. Regardless of metrics, people have a tough time with a team that is 19-15 (7-11), even if all their losses are Q1/2.

Dont hang your hopes on us for this one. We are a very flawed team. Hard to see us winning to massive games like this back-to-back.

State almost took an atrocious loss yesterday to Prairie View. Trailed by 15 at one point. That poor performance caused their numbers to drop a little after a super impressive showing against Pitt.
Got a date with Will Wade’s squad in Tupelo on Saturday.

It will be interesting to see how well bama fans travel to that one.

Although OU is better than last year (they were first team out of making playoffs), we started great last year and hit the B12 gauntlet and missed playoffs. Now it seems SEC is loaded up with many good teams so every conf game will matter.
There will be no off nights and every team will have conf losses. Its going to be a bloodbath.

I'm guessing not at all for a Wednesday night game in Grand Forks, ND a week before Christmas. But maybe some will decide to spend their playoff money that got saved up for a trip to the Dakotas. They do have a regional airport that you can fly into after connecting in Minneapolis.
They have a pretty nice little arena that is completely secondary to their incredible hockey arena next door.

Pretty sure it's regularly ranked as one of the top 2 or 3 in the country.

Ya, ya'll improved, but you're still the wounded animal running the slowest.
Now that I posted that, y'all probably beat us.

Coming into the season I was just hoping for a win or two. After beating Kansas my hopes are up, which is exactly what the universe wants because then my hopes can be crushed again.

I can't help but think Creighton ends up Q1. They're 41st in KenPom and 26th in BPI. They had some rough losses to start but their last 3 including a win over Kansas.
Tennessee is probably the biggest unknown. I know they're good, but their toughest opponent to date is Baylor (currently 5-3 and #23 in KenPom). It'll be interesting to see how well that continues through conference play (they don't have much OOC that's worth noting).
Well, them and Florida - Florida's top 10 in KenPom despite playing an even weaker schedule so far than Tennessee.

quote:I think this easily the best the SEC has done OOC that I can remember. Now lets see if they can back it up in the tourney. 2006 SEC was really impressive when it came to tourney play. Shoot the NIT champ beat our Natty champ 2/3 times that year. All 6 losses Florida took that year were in conference (33-6).
Solid chance the SEC Regular Season Champ has at least 6 losses in conference.

While I think Florida is really good, I'm surprised they are ranked as high as they are due to a little bad luck with opponent strength. I think the fact that they've been dominating teams has helped, but I think they'd drop a good bit with just one "bad" loss.
