Seems like the Big Ten got rewarded for having many good teams but no great teams. Everyone beat each other up. SEC got penalized for having 4 really good teams that took care of business which hurt the rest of the league.
Seems odd that the SEC probably would’ve been better off if the top of the league wasn’t as good and had lost some games they shouldn’t have

Move the damn title game to saturday, and let’s have big 10-SEC challenge every year but all the NCAA really cares about are ratings

We get a good amount of bias in football. Though not apples to apples because football doesn't have a 64 team tournament, we definitely get preferential treatment. Maybe its because of perceived fan support in the SEC vs. B1G?
It ain’t bias in football, it is reality.

The facts are they hosed OU and Texas too…. They had to let Texas in but gave them the hardest 11 seed in VT who is reshot ….. OU did lose 15 games but they also beat a one seed a two seed a 3 seed and a 4 seed….. to with a net rating of 30.. OU lost two games outside too 60 the rest were wins and loses inside top 60

They put the SEC in the tough brackets on purpose.

OKLAhoma really got screwed by the committee, OU just beat last years champ, was ranked higher than many teams in the MM, had 5 top 15 wins, and had the #4 SOS ......
It is as if they did not want another Big 12 team regardless of qualifications.....
I really do think the committee is doling out the slots to include a wider spread of conferences and teams from everywhere.....
We are getting screwed by the Big 12 every chance they get, since we are going SEC , that may have played a role..no support...

If OU's record (18-15) was the reason they got left out, it certainly doesn't explain Wake Forest (37 spots higher than Rutgers, and a 23-9 record to boot).
If SOS is the big criteria, then A&M was sitting only 3 spots below Rutgers (so basically dead even when you consider the number of teams). 23-12 vs 18-13? Identical SOS? That's next tier bullshite.

So many more potential TV viewers in the B1G conference and the SEC historically is pretty poor in BB - it's all about the $ nowadays

I agree with you on that. The Big has a good reputation in hoops even if I dont fully understand why.

The problem has been and will continue to be (until he is gone) is Sankey. He perhaps could handle the BDF but not the SEC.
He is just a suit.

The bias in favor of the B1G is outrageous. The conference is just not that good. I watch plenty of B1G hoops, and in general the athleticism is just not on a par with that in the SEC or Big 12. That's how slow, plodding No. 2 seed Iowa got wiped out by Oregon in the 2nd round in last year's tourney. Oregon looked like Phi Slamma Jamma reincarnated compared with Iowa's slugs. Iowa State drubbed this year's Iowa squad by 20.
The committee obviously has not learned its lesson from last year's pitiful B1G performance after putting 9 teams in, with 8 losing before the 3rd round. I hope the same thing happens this year. At least the B1G doesn't have any 1 seeds or 2 seeds. Just way too many seeds.
And in the words of the late, great Bob Marley, "He said, 'Kill it before it grows.' " That's what needs to happen to every B1G seed planted by the committee.

It was a joke that Rutgers was allowed in. The BIG 10 is always overrated in March.

How the hell did Michigan get in?
Posted on 3/15/22 at 9:55 am to Oilfieldbiology
Oklahoma was ranked #30 and did not make a 68 team tournament.....injuries and Covid caused a mid season slump....but at end of season was dominant beat Baylor (last season champ) like a rented mule, one point loss to Tech was a ref calling a non- foul at end of game, Oklahoma has beaten a #1 seed, #2 seed, #3 seed, and #4 seed as well as many others in tournament...

No way that Michigan with their bratty , whiny coach should have gotten in with a 17-14 record. Hopefully they get curb stomped by Colorado State (who is actually a pretty good team).
Definitely too much bias in the selection process.
I don’t care how tough (or perceived to be) your schedule is, at some point you have to win some games. Michigan failed to do so.

I dont know why each team doesnt have their NET, KENPOM, RPI, SOS, Best wins (again by SOS number) on a blank sheet of paper (No school names listed), and then committee ranks it on that. Take an extra day if you have to.
That said if we took the names away and went purely on numbers, nobody could complain.

This seems like an easy answer, but ive never seen a commish that is liked.
as for Sankeys body of work. We still win in FB, often having 2 in, our basketball league has gotten a lot better, baseball has been dominant by more than just one school during his time, and womens sports have become more dominant. He has done a good job in my eyes
