Not an AU fan but I have never witnessed a program handcuff a coach like this.

Idk what to make of it other that it's a bad thing.

Not sure how much he's really been handcuffed. It doesn't seem like he's really wanted an independent OC. This hire seems to fit his agenda well.
At least we really know who is calling the plays. Gus was hired because of is (alleged) offensive prowess in the first place.

Apparently BowlJackson thinks you could discuss Gus on either.

Only to cover up their embarrassment of hiring a second tier coach that may cost Gus his job next year.

Other teams are now figuring it out. So he need to change his offense scheme. Look what Missouri did when Josh Heupel failed to open the running game. Then Dooley was able to open it up. That is what Gus needed to do to get the quarterback open and the running game going smoothly.

How do you - y’all feel about Malzahn going back to being play caller?

I don’t care who he hires.

I already know what the plays will be based on personnel groups and formations.

Unfortunately, so does the defense we play.

Yea that’s true but Bama defensive coaches knew what AU was going to do with Nick Marshal and y’all still succeed in scoring at will. If Malzahn gets the right players, y’all have the ability to be unstoppable. It really sucks seeing a cheese dick high school offense succeed against your teams defense.

Gus pedigree

HS pedigree has caused Saban's almighty NFL defenses more problems than any other. The simplicity must be to complex for Saban.

Yea, all 3 of those times.

Les beat Saban 3 times as well. Should hire him.
