Don't disagree with you Shoals my concern is how Malzahn handles him once on campus. The list of qbs that were either flat out misses or Malzahn failed to develop is frightening.

Woody Barrett
Jeremy Johnson
Tyler Queen
Malik Willis
Joey Gatewood
Cord Sandberg
Tyler Queen
John Franklin III

All misses.... the only qb that turned out half way decent was Sean White who unfortunately had some character issues. A 1 out of 9 success rate on high school qbs is a good way to get a coach fired.

He is coming to Arkansas. Infact our recruiting people said that while at miss st he told people there he was coming to Arkansas. These fan bases will be very sad when he chooses us based on relationships. Which he said was the biggest factor period.

Woody Barrett - Left. And is not doing crap where he went.

Jeremy Johnson - What coach could have developed him?

Tyler Queen - Was never a SEC QB talent plus his career was ended by injury. Not by Gus

Malik Willis - Still to be determined but he only had one year of QB experience when he arrived.

Joey Gatwood - Yet to be determined

Cord Sandburg - Seriously?

John Franklin III -

Bryant essentially eliminated Auburn, Miss State, and Mizzou yesterday with this quote:

quote:

"The relationship," Bryant said. "Everybody has been looking at this like it's a one-deal thing. Of course it is from an athletic standpoint. But this is not just for one year. It's a lifetime decision. Just looking for somewhere I can see myself coming back to the university. Just seeing myself eventually maybe living here and settling down. Those have been the biggest two things. Lifetime decision and also the relationship with the coaching staff and also the players as well."

Nobody in their right mind chooses to settle down in Starkville, CoMo, or Lee County.

Hell, even fired coaches tend to stay in AU.

I agree. We'll see. I think if Zamir comes back strong, and we pull one or two next year, we will be in really good shape.

I have no idea where he is going, but Arkansas seems like the worst choice. If winning in his final year is important that is.

I would agree.

So to me it would boil down to a QB you are concerned about developing long term who is better than one you are not going to have long enough to develop

Why would you transfer to a 7-5 school that plays this schedule next year:

Aug. 31: vs. Oregon (in Dallas)
Sept. 7: vs. Tulane
Sept. 14: vs. Kent State
Sept. 21: at Texas A&M
Sept. 28: vs. Mississippi State
Oct. 5: at Florida
Oct. 19: at Arkansas
Oct. 26: at LSU
Nov. 2: vs. Ole Miss
Nov. 16: vs. Georgia
Nov. 23: vs. Samford
Nov. 30: vs. Alabama

Transfer to go 6-6 is kind of stupid isnt it.

Because competitors want to compete?

Seriously, he might end up in a place other than AU, but I doubt he would do so because he does not think he could be the difference.

Normal circumstance sure, but if a coach is about to get fired and he's going to have probably the hardest strength of schedule in the country, he might not be there after October.

Sounds like a piss poor way to spend your last season.

He's stated that relationships and life after football are most important.

I presume he's talking about Chase Daniel. To be fair, we had two in between there, but Maty Mauk (James Franklin was the other---dang good college quarterback btw) did start a few games before cocaine became too helluva drug for him.

Good. Long as I don't have to see Jalen Hurts tearing through our secondary wearing an Auburn jersey I'm good with Bryant, Johnny Unitas or Manziel transferring there. Auburn is absolutely the number one school in America in transfer recruiting. Send us your drug users, your violent, your flunkees and outs. Your broke, huddled masses looking for justice, playing time and and a little somethin, somethin and more.

Didn't bama take a dude who beat women, and then had to get rid of him for beating women?

They are both freshman and one was injured for a while. It's just a dumb to label them as failures as it is to proclaim them to be saviors.
