Nah, TAMU is just as capable of this. LSU has literally nothing to offer that TAMU doesn't.

Isn't that what Texas A&M on the path to doing that? It isn't this year but soon! As long as recruiting is near the top 5 each year. You think it takes only a couple of years to get it done for a program that been average for so long? How come UGA haven't done it since 1980? Look at Kirby Smart at UGA! He hasn't done it after 4 years with all that top 5 recruiting classes! Some coaches need more time and it is slowly coming together for Fisher and Texas A&M. Maybe he will get it done in a couple more years.

Fisher proved this year that you can win at A&M. The funny thing is next year will be the first one with all his own recruits. Solidify the recruiting class, and the beginning of something special

With the University of Texas now joining the SEC, it takes away the one distinct advantage that Jimbo had in recruiting when going after the top in-state talent in Texas. He can no longer claim SEC exclusivity in the state, as the Texas Longhorns can also provide that opportunity. I know Texas A&M fans don't want to hear this and will point to how down Texas has been in recent years and this year, but there's truth to it.

Maybe that's the difference between A&M and LSU. Our AD knows exactly what the fans want.

Which is probably why Woodward is such a great AD. Once you start listening to fans, you end up sitting with them.

Les Miles and then Orgeron? Not sure what happened right there with those two HCs!

Running it back with Scott Frost? That would be so Nebraska.

There are two articles one with Texas A&M and one with Nebraska.

If your coach loses out are you still wanting to give him five years?

"Ten years ago, 5 years was the minimum a coach should get."

BS. It was more like 4, 3 if he really sucked.

However, you didn't see schools pulling the plug at 2 or less like you sometimes do now.

Are you having a hard time with comprehension or are you just slow or what?

See that link in the op is by one single person and that person isn’t affiliated with lsu and isn’t an lsu fan . Scott Woodward is the ad at lsu . The author of that article has sources telling him that Woodward is interested in jimbo.

See these message boards like sec rant and the coaching changes board are a portion of the fan base. The message board fans are at about 80 % not wanting fisher.

See you read the link in the op saying lsu wants jimbo, but that was what the author said, not what the message board portion of the fans said . The people hiring at lsu never said they didn’t want jimbo , our ad is not affiliated with us ok . We don’t want him but one person thinks our ad does per his source .

Is that simple enough to understand, I’m trying to make you understand the concept of the fan base and ad being different entities with different opinions. Hope this helps

From USA TODAY sports

By tacking on four fully-guaranteed years to Fisher's already massive contract, Texas A&M immediately doubled the size of his buyout clause – which, according to USA TODAY Sports research, is the largest in the history of college football.

Fisher, 56, is making $7.5 million this year and would be owed about $95.6 million if he is fired without cause on Dec. 1. Prior to the extension, he would've been due $45.6 million.

So yes, he does have a buyout

He doesn’t have a buyout in the normal sense. He is guaranteed 100M if terminated but can walk away without paying a dime. However, only an idiot would do so, and the “buyout” starts at 100M. Someone has to guarantee as much to begin talks.

But it goes further. Fisher wants guarantees of support from the administration and seems loyal. He gave FSU every chance to meet his requests before leaving for A&M, and I would expect the same here. A&M will give him whatever he wants, and he knows it. Few schools are willing to put up with such a one-sided contract, and more importantly few can actually do so

Saban has the same type of contract from what I understand

Good Lord! This may one of the better troll jobs. You wrote so much and added that message board part in.

Jimbo would be great but he's not first on my list, the best part of a Jimbo hire though would be the Aggy melt

I'll be in BR for the game. I think every LSU fan that I interact with I'll tell them the rumor is Jimbo is all but about to sign with LSU.

Should make for some great times
