yeah that is definitely why we held the #2 team in the country to less than 300 yards of offense. Just shut up dude

Don't know, don't much care.
Only thing you should remember is the bowls make the pick and anytime AU is close with another school (including MSU and LSU), we will probably be picked because we travel as well or better than any other school and it is about the money for the bowls.

What in the hell does this have to do with where you belong in the CFP poll?

Don't the cocks have an 8-13 bowl record with only 21 Appearances in 120 years.?
See above.

Arent the Southern Cocks 6-3 also?
We beat our OOC opponents...including a nationally ranked NC State team.
Remind me again how your OOC games turned out?

Yeh, you have a reason to pick on LSU..
Glad we agree.

Who would get the NY6 bowl invite?
Easily LSU. Only lost by 2 TDs to Bama and covered the spread despite a mercy knee on the 2 yard line

It won't matter after State beats the elephant shite out of Alabama this weekend.

If I'm not mistaken the highest ranked team gets the NY6 bowl, I could be wrong but CFP doesn't count againt a conference tie in bowls.

None of them.
SEC isn't guaranteed three spots in the NY6, and wouldn't in that situation.

What a deflection. No where in your response did you provide any valid rebuttal to what he said. You just flamed his team because he made an honest statement. You. Are. Rustled.

According to ESPN FPI, Stanford followed by NC State followed by LSU. 3rd best 3 loss team.

That's 3 losses for Auburn and 2 for LSU. LSU goes unless it's a double digit win for Georgia then Alabama goes to the NY6

The answer is who brings in the most money.

If chaos hit, any team ranked in the top 10 of the final CFP poll would get a NY6 bowl. If normal results, it will probably be top 11/12, depending on where UCF ends up.
Auburn is likely to be #11/#12 tonight and MSU is likely to be #14/#15 tonight. Obviously MSU beating Alabama and Georgia beating Auburn would probably move MSU into the top 10, where they would need to win against Arkansas and Ole Miss to stay there, and likely get the Peach Bowl bid against the G5 team.
If both MSU and Auburn lose this weekend, it will depend on how far they fall. Auburn would likely be 17-20 and MSU would likely be somewhere 18-22. Thats too far for MSU to get to the top 11/12 by playing Arky and Ole Miss, but Auburn could still beat Alabama.
LSU cannot get to the top 11/12 in any circumstance with three losses and no one to catapult them left on their schedule.
The real question that needs to be asked is if Auburn loses to Georgia and Alabama to end up 8-4, and MSU and LSU both end up 9-3, who gets the Citrus Bowl. MSU would likely be the highest ranked of the three in this scenario, but the Citrus Bowl isn't tied to rankings. They get the pick among the three 5-3 SEC teams.

Actually, the answer is who is ranked higher in the CFB playoff poll.....that's what they go off of, and it would be MSU if the SEC gets a 3rd team in barring Auburn winning against Georgia or Bama (or state losing to Arkansas or OM).

quote:no it isn't. it's already been pointed out in this thread that money is the deciding factor. there's been more than one year when a deserving msu got passed over by an equal team who has a bigger following. this year would be no different. you can pretty much bet the house that lsu would get the nod even if the records are the same, msu is ranked higher, won head to head.

They can choose to take another team from another conference over MSU, but they can't take a team in the SEC over MSU if MSU is ranked higher in the CFB Poll than that team. LSU would not get in over MSU in this scenario.

Though State looked very lackluster this week, there were a lot of Top 15 teams that lost. Wouldn't be surprised if they're higher than 14. But also wouldn't be surprised to see them stay put. We shall see.

People aren't fully considering the circumstances.
States best win would be over 9-3 LSU, and our worst loss would be Auburn. LSU's best win would be over 8-4 Auburn, with their worst loss being Troy.
So state would have the edge in quality win, quality of losses, and head to head. No question, state is ranked higher.
