Just an observation, have seen some banter around his name.

I went backed and watched the SECCG. He’s getting out hustled to finish plays, and he’s not responding with fire and passion to real adversity from an opponent.

He’s responding with self-dejection that his 5-star size/speed/skills (which he does have) can’t compensate for an opponents relentless hustle.

I don’t think he’s a quitter, I truly think he hasn’t come to understand that the competition has caught up to his skill set using unfamiliar tools (relentless effort). Needs a lot of love from his coaches, which he’s gotten, primarily Kirby.

Dude is an NFL talent and has played great for us. SECCG wasn’t his best but he will ball out in the CFP.

A lot of talk about our secondary in the SECCG. I think the main issue was there was zero pass rush in the second half. When a QB can consistently throw 40 yard passes, he has too much time.

Lazy take…go watch the film with football eyes instead of fan eyes.

We keep running the same A gap blitz with Smael Mondon where he just runs up the defensive tackles butt and gets stuck over and over. It may have worked 5 times all year.

The pass rush against LSU was atrocious. It wasn't for a lack of trying. We never stopped blitzing.

Instead of being biased and dismissive, process what I said.

The lazy take is linking to a Brooks Austin clip that literally doesn’t cover a single play from the second half, when Keelee was getting beat the most.

Sounds like I need a disclaimer for all the triggered readers. I like Keelee, as a person based on his interviews and what Kirby says about him. I value him on the team and respect his skill set. I understand what he’s going through because I have seen it from my own teammates.

What I’m trying to share is just an observation of someone in the act of “seeing his shadow”, and not knowing how to process that and do his job going forward.

It’s hard for all of the increasingly entitled-sounding Dawg fans to watch someone we all though to be invincible turn out to be just good, without actually being a bad person.

So, look at his body language after each of these plays. After every single one of them he’s just walking back, unemotional. He’s not looking up at the video board, not whining, no antics, no act of urgency. He’s just walking back, knowing he got beat soundly. There’s no fire, no hustle nothing. It’s odd.

These are the plays I’m taking about:

- Keelee stopped running when Jenkins ran to space and scored the final TD of the game on Nuss’ scramble in 4Q

- Keelee got beat bad down the sideline by Nabers on the TD early in 3Q that Starks whiffed the INT on. Ringo wasn’t giving the man to Starks: he never turned around or moved to zone cover underneath space. He just got beat (Starks’ def mis-judged Nuss’ velocity, you can chalk that one up to him not scouting the backup QB)

- Keelee got beat badly by Nabers on a long post route down that didn’t score in-mid 3Q

- Keelee got beat bad in the end zone on 1st and goal when he got PI on Jenkins late in 3Q. He fouled intentionally (strategically) because he knew he got beat so badly

- Keelee took a terrible angle on Boutte’s 1Q TD after his face guarding allowed the WR to lead him completely out of the play behind a stack in/out pattern on the wide side

I’m sorry to hear that. It would explain a lot of the body language I was seeing in the game reacting to his in-play execution. Acting almost numb-like

This is a reasonable take and don’t disagree per se. I think his total package remains above the NFL floor, on raw skills and size alone. Completely reasonable for all decent fans to hope he shows out in the playoffs.

I also know this game film is gold for Kirby, to connect with him and share insights to these. Kirby’s take a real personal interest in him.

If Keelee’s the stud I hoped he is, he’ll have that relentless hustle in the Peach Bowl. That’s the thing to watch for.

Smarter people than me have said that Ringo would be a tremendous free safety in the NFL and that might be his better position because he doesn't have elite change of direction ability.

Yes would agree. He doesn’t have twitch quickness. But also, I’m not sure of his tackling in space when facing the direction of attack. And having that fire is an even bigger part of being a good Safety than it is with being a Corner

I think this is far and away the #1 reason we lit up the box score with passing yardage. LSU was a one trick pony after the Bama game with Daniels creating plays with his legs/having horrible passing games. He is also the streakiest passer I have ever seen at LSU, and for the first time since Bama, he was definitely on in the first few drives. Just as UGA is getting used to that, he goes down and now cant run and we are useless, easy to defend and guys likely got a little complacent up 4 TDs.

Second half starts and you then have to face a QB who scrambles to pass not run, moves in the pocket, releases the ball infinitely faster, and one who lives to throw it 40 yds downfield, regardless of the coverage. Basically the exact opposite of everything you game planned for.

Yeah a bit of that, a bit of soft zone, and a bit of Tiger pride continuing to play hard.

People were talking about Nuss showing out but honestly he should have had 2 more picked off. I was more impressed with the OL and WR effort (and M. Taylor). They played hard and relentless until the end. That’s something to build on.
