I would assume this because he has no ties to the SEC and needs connections for recruiting, this is definitely not going to go over well in the long run.

Doesn’t matter, Saban is gonna continue to coach from behind the scenes, you didn’t know?

After their impressive showing this year, I'd LOVE to know what Lsu fans think.

Womack is a rising star in the coaching community. Also has plenty of southern ties, whereas most of Deboer's staff does not.

Played at Arkansas. Coached in Alabama

His dad was Hugh Freeze’s DC

He was also DC while DeBoer was at Indiana

Thanks for the background info, I guess. Never heard of this fella.

Kalen DeBoer has zeroed in on South Alabama head coach Kane Wommack to be @AlabamaFTBL’s DC and a deal is in the process of being finalized, sources tell me and @ESPNRittenberg. Wommack was previously the DC at Indiana.

This is a very good hire. This guy is a hell of a DC. Reminds me a lot of Jeremy Pruitt. I remember when Pruitt coached it my high school and nobody knew him.

Looks like a home run hire. He had South Alabama ranked #15 in total Defense last year, allowing 312.8 YPG. That’s two spots ahead of Alabama’s 316 YPG.

Great hire. The guy is a pure coach. Don't under-estimate these guys that grind their way up the ranks. They are some good coaches. He was doing pretty good at South Alabama.
