Exactly. How can anyone on that level not know everything on this press conference is like the complete opposite of what people want to hear. It’s almost like sabotage

Ok I’m gonna zag… in an ideal world what Womack is saying is correct. The best teams police themselves and hold themselves to a standard.

Do we live in an ideal world? Has this team given any indication they are capable of self-correction? The only self-led teams I can think of to have success were way back in the Miami peak days where the talent was so overwhelmingly dominant and the players probably would have literally killed anyone being lazy and standing between them and the millions they wanted to make in the NFL.

The statements throughout this thread are pretty much the exact opposite of what everyone associated with this program wanted to hear after a loss like that.

My last glimmer of hope was to hear what message the coaches were ready to give today after a few nights to sleep on it. Holy shite this was so much worse than I could have possibly imagined.

Another strange thing. After a brutal loss and his job on the line, DeBoer sent his DC to the mic first, then OC, then DeBoer spoke last.

Another gem from Wommack: "I don't think you have to make big, sweeping changes." "There was enough blame to go around." "Want to give people an opportunity to get things corrected."

So I guess you get a free pass for poor effort as long as you correct it next time and everyone else was giving poor effort too.

Also spoke to a "pattern" of timid defensive play on the road and attributed it to a poor sideline atmosphere with coaches focused on the iPads and not on keeping the players engaged. ...I suppose its a good thing to hear them finally point to a specific problem that needs addressing, but this is a pretty damn embarrassing problem. He all but said our players and coaches are lethargic and distracted on the sideline which is what we have been complaining about as fans from Day 1.

It’s pretty clear their is a massive lack of leadership and accountability in the building at UAT

WTF is going on? Are they begging to be fired?

When Harsin was at Auburn, it sincerely seemed like he was trying to get fired.

Maybe those payouts are too tempting and when the reality hits of being an SEC coach and living in the Deep South as a PNWer, it becomes unbearable.

Did you really just post about baseball championships? That was gay as shite

You would be singing a different tune if y’all followed suit with the rest of the conference besides Mizzou when it comes to baseball.

Saban would have burst into flames if he had been on sidelines for that game. I was shocked at how soft Bama has become. You can’t fix that once the season has started. Bama is fricked.

Let’s try it.

Nope. That is something he would never say.

$1000 dollars his kids never had a spanking, but yeah that’s just what the players need: more coddling and self-correction. You guys are in deep crap.

Between the HC, OC, and DC, Grubb strikes me as the only one with high level football IQ and who would still be a desirable coaching hire to another major program. Saban badly tried to hire him as his OC and he is a top QB developer with background as an old school OL coach. He is also the only coach the players say gives arse chewings and passion in practice anywhere near a Saban level.

Not saying this is ideal at all, but if we start 1-3 and DeBoer has to go mid season, I'd say give Grubb a shot as HC the rest of the season and see if something drastically changes. Outside shot he might be a cheap solution to transition out of this mess without another mass player exodus.
