That story isn’t enough to hold off any big named teams.
But I’m being genuine… What is his story for those of us who haven’t paid paid attention?

Grew up 30 minutes from MSU. Family is huge MSU supporters. His uncle, Omarr Connor was a loyal MSU quarterback under Sly Croom. Grew up idolizing Dak and dreamed of playing at Mississippi State. I mean kid in the yard with a plastic MSU helmet pretending to throw touchdowns to his little brother (who is also a huge QB prospect)
Highest rated QB recruit in MSU history. Beat out some major schools for him out of Noxubee High School (a powerhouse program in MS). Chose Mississippi State over Georgia, Texas A&M and Ole Miss.
Then beat out some schools last year trying to get him in the portal.
We just caught lightning in a bottle. I think State will have to pony up to keep him next year, but they will do what it takes if he keeps showing out and winning games. If we end up 4-8, we probably fire Lebby and start over anyway.

It’s going to be tough. You just need to hope that some team like Oregon or Ohio State doesn’t have a situation where their team is stacked except at quarterback. If a program of that caliber considers him to be the missing link to a national championship…..you’ll see them throw out record breaking numbers.

Oh, I'm aware. But its Week 4 of the 2026 season and we are talking about what schools will pay a 19 year old kid more money for the 2027 season. Its not fair to anyone at this point to speculate.
I'm confident that there is as much of a chance that he stays at State as there is he transfers. He'll be a high draft prospect in the 2028 draft. The highest paid QB in the NFL went to State - he can finish here as well.

The offense is clicking. South Carolina and Minnesota have respectable defenses and we shredded both of them.

My crystal ball is…hazy. I’m just going to enjoy the season for the first time in a long time. These people get paid to bump their gums and speculate. Could KT get more money playing somewhere other than MSU and possibly transfer? Well….yeah.
I guess if Lebby leaves, we can promote Arnett lol.

I hope State ponies up and pays him to stay. I think his loyalty will mean something. State will have to pay more but maybe not as much as some schools are offering.

I'm an ole miss fan and even I want him to stay at State. Can tell he likes it there and seems like a great kid. Obviously even great people get swayed by money, doesn't make them bad people, but hope loyalty and him being a fan his whole life wins out.

It is a pretty good story. Supposedly his grandfather (I think) told him he was going to change the perception of MSU football back when he was just a 9 year old in Macon, MS. I watched part of some thing on the You Tubes. I’d say he’s already done that, at least for this season. People like money, though, so who knows. At least this year we’ll have some teams scratching us off the easy win list. So that’s neat.

I picked Missouri to go 5-7. This game Miss St -6 vs Missouri. That is not surprising to me since I am not happy the way Drinkwitz has been handling the offense the last few years. Last game against Troy was awful on offense. This weekend I am expecting a Miss St win over Missouri this weekend.

It's interesting to me that people acknowledge the fact that Kamario picked State because he said that God called him there, and think he's going to leave for just a million or two more and throw his calling out of the window. He's got a lot of good people in his ear and I just can't fathom he'd sacrifice his character, his coach, his teammates and his love for Mississippi State for 1 more Bugatti. It just doesn't add up, State fan or not. Cost-benefit analysis favors Mississippi State pretty heavily here.

That's pretty damn cool. Every interview I've seen with him makes me like him more and more. Yall have a good one. Will be the face of college football very soon

I doubt he'd leave, but I also doubt he's going to leave money on the table. I don't think you need a crystal ball to see that State is going to have to give him more for next year.

For sure. MSU is very likely going to make him a very rich man. But can they match when a different school is trying to make his entire family very rich?
