If he does, then they should just go ahead and eliminate the transfer rule and admit its complete free agency now.
Yep. I remember sweating the NCAA decision for Jay Prosch whose mother was dying from brain cancer in Mobile. Waivers like this will totally cheapen situations like that

There is one reason Fields is transferring and it has nothing to do with Kirby promises, or racism, or any of that.
The kid couldn't beat Fromm and knew he would be pulling MOP up duty for a few years. He didn't want to wait.
Lack of patience is a standard in today's youth.
The kid flat didn't wanna wait cause he, like a lot of football players these day want to get ot he NFL as fast as possible.

Georgia would have beaten Texas if they had Fields come in, oh what....

Rough couple of months for Kirby.
Why? it's not like it was not expected.

Crap. I can't imagine how Auburn fans are feeling if you think this is rough.

Who the hell is Justin Fields? Never heard of him.

Or this could cause Martell to look elsewhere.
Possibly, but from everything we've heard Fields struggled picking up the playbook. I find it amusing that people think he's just going to step right in and master the OSU offense.

Neat.
#1 passing offense?
Sweet.

UGA has a very competent OC.
That's one opinion.
I don't think a competent OC would have left Fromm in after the struggles he had. He was fortunate to have a solid running game to make the numbers look good. Your passing game was garbage. A competent OC gets Georgia to a *title this year.

Huge gamble by Fields. However, he signed at Georgia with Fromm already the starter, so he hasn’t shown much intelligence throughout either of his recruitments.
He should’ve went to Florida State, or hell Houston and light it up with Holgo.

So if you have competent players that is a mark against the coordinator?

We had a good offense, so yes. Competent is different than great.

Who else on the Georgia qb roster?

If you have competent players that sit behind less competent players, yes.

Statistics.

A competent coach gets OSU to the playoffs this year.
1. Ohio State finished 13-1 with Big Ten and Rose Bowl championships. Can't control which four teams the committee decides to put in.
2. Ryan Day did more than enough to get Ohio State to the playoff this year. Ryan Day will be his coach, not Urban Meyer.

Ohio State has a better offensive mind who has shown the ability to develop players like Fields.
Fields is heading to a better situation for him, and all reports point to Martell being a complete dirtbag who's about as sharp as wet cardboard. I doubt Fields will escape a redshirt, but if he does he'll beat out Tate. Either way, I'm rooting for Justin.
As for UGA, Fromm is still one of the 3 best QBs in CFB next year. We'll be fine.

We flipped a 4 star DT from Ohio State and have a few backups but no one even close to Fields status.
Its safe to say we will be after a top caliber QB in 2020

Should have gone to Oklahoma IMO

UGA signed the aforementioned dual threat and another guy who will likely sign in Plumlee. They both look solid, and Dwan Mathis looks like he has some real promise.
Either way, expect Fromm to be the starter for the next two years, and we'll see what comes down the pipe during that time.

redhsirts, then claims it was racist again to start a white QB over him and get immediate transfer again....this time without losing a year of eligibility

Oregon was the play IMO especially if he has to redshirt.
