Thought he handled it classy....Said he "felt" for his former team, and especially for Rodrigo Blankenship his friend. Seems like a good kid who is not full of himself.

what would you expect him to say? Frick them?
Fields is terrific and has a specific skill set that is not meant for our offense. He left to go to an offense that would be best for him. He really has no reason to have ill will towards UGA. What's perplexing is why he came in the first place.

That would seem to be most UGA fans's choice words for him.

What kind of QB do you think is a fit for the UGA offense? It seems like when you get a kid like Fields on campus you can make some changes to the offense to make it a fit

Racist students? Yeah I would have said that.

our current offense as it is now? Pretty much the same we've always had; Fromm, greene, eason, etc.
Personally I would liek us to enter the 21st century and run a different one but that's not the reality of right now.

Do you honestly think the coaching staff was honest with him about the offense and his playing time when they recruited him? Even you know it made no sense for him to go to UGA . The staff either lied to him to keep him from going to UF or they payed him .

If your coaches can’t mold an offense around a guy like Fields you have a severe coaching problem. Having a system is one thing, not being able to adjust to what your players do well to win is a whole different thing. When you get a talent like Justin Fields you swallow your damn ego and system and coach to the kid. He’s the type of guy that can win you a championship. Tell Kirby to stop being so damn stubborn.

Ding ding ding we have a winner. Real coaches don’t have pre determined “systems” they mold there “system” around what there players do well.

Yes, that kid is downright scary with a team that is so loaded like that at each position, offensively and defensively, but it's the coaching and system that make the difference...I believe this Ryan Day is even better than Urban..he doesn't mess around when it comes to making changes on his staff.

Depends on many factors. There are coaches who recruit players to fit their systems. No one way to skin that cat.

Then your coach is even more of a dumbass than I expected. That’s saying something too. Recruiting to your “system” is such a horrible strategy. It will never be perfect. As a coach you have to be adaptable or at the very least let your coordinators be Adaptable.

Those coaches aren’t successful very often in my opinion. They just continue to wallow in their stubbornness.

Of course they lied, that’s what recruiters do. Justin had plenty of people telling him they were lying though. He decided he wanted Georgia anyway. It’s on him, he seemed to have learned a lesson.

I think that this whole Fromm/Fields thing is misguided.
What has Fields done that has made him more impressive than Fromm?
Do you guys really think that if you stick Fromm into OSU's offense through these first 6 games, that the results wouldn't be negligible at best?
Do you really think that Fields wouldn't struggle every now and then against SEC defenses even in OSU's offense?
I feel like the perspective is off here.

Yes, any normal thinker could see that.... But like you said, the perplexing question was why did he go to Georgia in the first place to play for a plodding team like that. Ga. needs to go out and find them a real offensive minded stud, but Smart is going to have to change his offensive scheme.

This is the same question Dabo was presented with last year, stick with the kid that you know is solid or play the dynamic young guy that makes your ceiling higher. Georgia wants a title they aren’t winning one with Fromm and this archaic offense. The decision to switch and try to get more dynamic on offense seems like a no brainer in today’s game. Would it have 100% worked? Who knows but we know what they are getting from Fromm and it ain’t beating Bama or Clemson for a championship.

Hate to agree with a Gator but you are exactly correct. Elite coaches adapt to the talent they have on hand.
Kirby Smart is not an elite head coach.
