Through games played Saturday, October 17, in the 2026 college football season, SEC teams have 35 total losses, of which 33 were against other SEC teams. Only 2 losses came against non-SEC opponents (Oklahoma to Michigan and Arkansas to Utah)

Thus, approximately 94.3% of the SEC’s losses have come against its own conference members. The overwhelming majority of the damage on team records has come from the grueling week-in, week-out SEC gauntlet-amply demonstrated by the massive shake-ups this past Saturday.

Thanks Sankey.

And kick out LSU

While we did get walloped losing to Utah at Utah isn't godawful.

Still, with our in conference schedule, but for Utah we might be looking at 4-3 right now. 2 wins with our remaining schedule would be a tall, but doable order. 3, probably not.

But a 6-6 Arkansas going to a bowl game is a lot better than a 5-7 Arkansas team that doesn't kick into the bowl game fund.

Wow. Its like you've cracked the code.

When two SEC teams play ... one has to lose. Amazing.

I realize you haven’t had a reason to follow football until this year. But yeah, when you make 75% of your schedule your own conference it tends to have a negative impact.

It gets even worse Wolf.

When SEC teams play football ... its only 50% wins. Only 50%. How can they keep up with any other conference with that kind of shite ?

Folks - this Wolf guy is onto something.

When 16 teams agree to play another regular season game amongst themselves ? Eight of them will lose.

That's just math.

The complaining about this would hold merit if all the people bitching weren't going on about it as it was better when we played 8 conference games instead of the current 9.

That one game was always against Poop State. I don't care about them not being on the schedule. They never should have been.

Now if we had some sort of 8 game conference schedule with other P4 OOC games mandated so as to have several OOC comparison points proving the SEC dominance all season, and Sankey had said no we'll just do the 9 + 1, instead of an 8 + 2, I'd get it

I can actually agree with this logic. But it only works if the other conferences do the same. Right now it does not look like they do.

Hey, I'm just picking at ya'.

Your point is solid. If your league is good ... and the SEC is good ... why do you play more among yourselves unless everybody else does ?

Its a valid point.

Also why I've asked why certain folks think a "super-conference" is a great idea. Its not. Guess what you have if you bring in the 20 best football teams in college ?

Twenty teams that each have a .500 record. Enjoy.

Kentucky will keep the UofL game. They should. Just because winning that game has recruiting benefits.

But a game like Oklahoma going to Michigan this year ? Cancel that shite. No upside.

They don't, but perhaps with the playoff expanding we're going to get more universal uniform scheduling format enforcement.

If we have that we have a deal.

Tired of being in a conference where we beat the living crap out of each other and then are punished for it by a committee that has a bias towards us. Top to bottom at least fourteen out of sixteen teams can beat each other on any given Saturday. And instead of acknowledging it we have to watch Notre Dame in the top five.

With the roll out of the 24 team playoff SOS is going to be taken into consideration more with 9-3 and 8-4 teams being in contention. Sankey knew it was coming and this will actually be good in the long run for the conference.

It was better in that teams had a bit of a breather vs Poop State.

It's retarded to beat each other up for another game a year, which sets the loser even further back from making the CFP.

Especially with a playoff that is ever expanding. Even more games.

A team like Notre Dame has two tough regular season games a year. Why should we make it harder for SEC teams to make the playoff, and then be successful when they get there?

I agree. Just not sure I am onboard with an expanded playoff format. Might as well just be the NFL then.

I think the SEC agreed to it based on the understanding that there would be a 24 team playoff. We would definitely be screwed under the old BCS model
