coaxing someone to the ground isn't even in the same discussion as dragging someone down from behind and slinging them to the ground.

You can try to compare the two, but they're not comparable. Not even a little.

Smart play by the UF kid who took him down.

Yeah. The Florida posters here are acting like there's no risk of fumbling when you are blindside tackled by a teammate

What a joke

Utah is the poster child for this. Utes were 2 TD's ahead and in control. Oregon picked up the fumble and returned it for 99 yard TD. Ducks got a quick 14 point swing and a huge emotional lift. Went on to win the game.

In short, fall an the ball and preserve the win when you can.

Considering UF players cannot fart without getting yelled at, I bet Mac tore into both of their asses in front of their girlfriends and families after the game.

I have been watching football for over 30 years. This is nothing new. People just want to troll and laugh at Florida to make themselves feel better.

You may not have been alive at a time when an NFL player made a last second interception (under a minute left) and tried to run it back and fumbled it near the goal line and the offense got it back and went down the field to score.

Tackling or bumping a teammate to go down is nothing new. Seen it plenty of times.

Im just as old as you but that really doesnt matter.

bumping teammates down or telling teammates to go down is not what happened here. Again it's apples and oranges. Keep trying to compare them though.

At least make sure you are in the endzone first...

Remember when an Oregon player did the same thing and cost them a game?

Or in the NFL during a Super Bowl game?

Well, we do have a reputation for blocking our own players thanks to the past coaching staff.

It isn't anything new. You are obviously new to the sport too. Pay attention to games around the country and in the NFL and you will see it happen again before week 6 is even done.

He was too busy tearing Fred Taylor's son a new a-hole for the throat slash to notice probably.

Never once have I seen this. Not once. The UF player was worried his teammate may get tackled and fumble the ball. So what does he do? Tackles him himself and risk fumbling the ball

You are so full of shite. You will see teammates point to the ground. You will not see a teammate make a great hard tackle from behind

i mean he drug his arse down from behind. It's just hard to not laugh at that. He increased their chances of losing with that tackle.

Granted the chances either way were both slim, but that was so boneheaded. Either tell him to go down, or block for him on his way to the end zone (he probably didnt even need blocking though).

Dragging his arse down from behind is just funny. No other way to spin it although it's clear some are trying.

You will see teammate wrap their arms around their upper body and you will see it happen before week 6.

So many dumb Florida hatting trolls this morning.

There wasn't an ECU player to be found close by. But my god, I would have jizzed on the spot if he'd fumbled it after being tackled by his own man.

Love the UF fan trying to justify this. It was a stupid play. They had a much greater chance of fumbling the ball during that tackle to give ECU a chance, then scoring a touchdown, and having ECU have to try to make that up. It was not a smart play. The player with the ball should have slid down, but tackling him was bonehead. Fun to watch tho.
