Didn't Tre Mason have 164 yards and 1 TD against Bama? He's not coming back. I'm pretty sure it's not typical for a back to do that against Bama. And he put up another 300+ in the SECCG and another 190+ on FSU in the BCSCG with a TD reception as well. They will miss him.

Runningback is plug-n-play at Auburn under Gus' system. They'll have plenty of options, and I don't think there will be a very big drop-off (if any) in production.

You must set the edge and your backers can't take false steps. With that said I think they will air it out a little more this year. Alabama is the team to beat in the West this year though.

I don't see any glarring deficiencies on AU's team. They return experience on both sides of the ball. They may have some glitches on special teams, that punter was money every time he touched the ball. But overall, I see them having a really good season.

Mason was a solid back but I think it had more to do with our Oline and Malzahns scheme. We should put up similar if not better rushing numbers than last year.

Just because you got beat by Auburn doesn't discount the fact that other teams are able to match up much better with little bro than you are.

I agree - that oline will be very good and y'all have 2-3 talented backs that will get plenty of carries. WR (Sammie Coates) is solid and with the new juco WR, Marshall will have some good targets.

Absolutely agree. And it's easy to see while watching film. It won't matter who is running the ball in that scheme with that offensive line.

Thin at DE, and an injury or Mincy suspension away from having a kind of iffy secondary.

And yeah, special teams are a crapshoot. Equipment manager friend of mine says they are inconsistent as mess.

LSU will not beat Auburn this year. Actually, I don't think it will be a close game.

While I agree Auburn should be the favorite there will be more tests than just Bama.

It can only improve from last year's performance.

Well better NG play from us having more depth and experience there and bigger Middle backers could actually help to negate this dive play that is the key stone in this offense. Everything runs off the dive/power run.

Bigger ILB are not going to chAnge Anything. They need to get off blocks better.

I'd like someone to offer an opinion based on football knowledge that would challenge those thoughts. I just don't see it.

Kudos to Auburn for winning last year. They earned it. That said, they had to scratch and claw to win on literally a last second freak play in Jordan Hare Stadium. This year's game will be in Tuscaloosa. That fact alone should make you take pause.

Why? AU hasn't had too much trouble winning in BDS.

I agree. It's going to take gap filling defensive linemen.

beaver Just re-watched the Iron Bowl... Auburn has to be the SEC Favorite It does now but by the time of the Iron Bowl, you will have to defend the deep ball as well The O won't be as one dimensional this season

Good point. With Coates and DW big things should be expected. Keeping Uzumoh at TE will help as well.

Gus' kryptonite as an OC/HC has been poor road performances so we shall see if he has shored that up.

Luckily we have three weeks before our first road game and then 6 weeks before our first SEC road game.
