They definitely had their fair share of busts but I saw Whitehead and Davis make a lot of clutch plays in man coverage in the Alabama and Missouri games.
Mincy had a good year, but he got burned a lot because he went up against great receivers a lot of the time like Evans, Cooper, DGB, etc. I call it the "T'Sharvan Bell" effect.
I think they'll be better, especially with Moncrief and Garrett in the mix, but we really don't see any CBs getting hurt or suspended, unless Trovon Reed is really a natural at corner.

Luck doesn't exist in sports. explain how/why they'd lose 3 games. I don't see it.

We've got to have Marshall be more consistent. He's got a big arm and when he doesn't overthink his throws, he's clutch as hell.
Those deep balls to wide open receivers have got to be hit though.
Also, you mentioned Coates and Williams out wide and CJ at TE. With Marcus Davis also looking like a viable slot guy, I honestly don't think we'll be seeing much of Ricardo Louis this year. With his case of the dropsies, he really might not see the field unless we go 5 wide.

That way those guys can still account for the speed runs off the edges. That's all I meant by that. Its a fundamental of the type of offense.
Wth is the power dive? Haha the whole point of the 3.4 is for the LB core to make the plays.

I agree actually, not sure why they are getting so little love.
Duke Williams is gonna be a very good WR, coupled with Coates and Bray they may have the best WRing corps in the SEC, and I don't think there's that big of a dropoff between Mason and CAP. Yeah their defense won't be great but it's not like they were winning with defense last year. You don't really need a defense when your offense is that good.

That's about all I can see him doing.
I mean, he's fast, but he's not really blazing fast. He finds ways to get open, but he drops the ball way, way too much, and at really bad times.
Our WRs look like a big strength, so he might be looking second string square in the face.

Key to slowing down Gus's offense is the interior DL getting penetration. When Jernigan stepped up his game in the late 2nd and entire 3rd quarter our offense struggled. When he wore down our offense started clicking again.

I do think it's basically a plug-n-play scheme, but I feel that Mason was perfect for it. He got stronger as the games went on. It seemed like every time they needed a big play, he was the guy that got it. I think their offense will still be very good, but I think they're going to miss his consistency and stamina.
Mason was just a great player. He had over 1000 yards rushing the year before and a higher ypc average in Chizik's pathetic offense. I don't think any individual player will touch his numbers from last year.
We shall see...

People who dismiss Tre Mason as a plug-and-play guy are fooling themselves. Mason's stature and lower body strength allowed him to run through tackles like a boss. Yeah, the system made him look like an all-world guy at times last year, but he's definitely a very solid back and losing him will hurt.
But, luckily for us, we replace him with Corey Grant (who has bulked up tremendously and actually might make a viable option running up the middle) and CAP who also looks like he'll be a great RB for us. Peyton Barber should provide a good third option for us if he heals up from his A-Day injury, and then we'll have to figure out somewhere to fit Roc Thomas in unless they plan give him the RS.

I would bet that CAP gets a lot more carries than Grant does. Grant is great on sweeps and options but I don't see him as a grind tough yards out betweeen the tackles kind of guy.
