Its impossible to tell because there are zero details. He says he gave money to a friend or representative of a Bama player. It could be a hundred dollars it could be a thousand. It was not directed by a coach or a booster. It is outside the statute of limitations. Those two facts alone mean any hope of sanctions is probably nill and this is even if you get anyone to cooperate with the NCAA which isnt a guarantee. Its impossible to speculate on anything else because there are so few details.

Would the NCAA use manpower and resources to try to suss out evidence of old shite like this or will they use their power to dig into the massive basketball scandal?
It was a rogue financial advisor paying players on his own to gain favor with future NFL players so they will hire him. If our staff knew and did nothing then sure it's a problem...but good luck proving that. This has nothing to do with the Universities paying players through a "bagman". You guys can jump to that conclusion if want but I like dealing with facts.
Honestly, I think the NCAA's ill equipped to handle anything of this magnitude.

Brittany Spears is a great representation of Alabama fans in 2019.

Maybe. Its just impossible to tell with the little info we have. Regardless it isnt good but I dont know how you stop this from happening and I assume neither does the NCAA. If your school has a good compliance department, which Bama does, and you have been doing everything you are supposed to there is still a strong possibility it might happen.

There is this as well. There is no reason this guy has to go public with who he paid unless the feds make him

Just how serious is this Bama thing?
The Bama fans are writing it off, but it's very very bad.
At the very least it will spark an investigation. And this isn't some "he said offer, you know what that means!" nonsense.
Nay. This is an official witness, under oath, in a federal trial.
And this is just the beginning from what I've heard.

Bama fans are going to say "no big deal"
Fans that hate Bama are going to say "AAAARRRRRMMMAGGEDDDDOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNN!!!"
For reference, see the Will Wade fiasco
Just another day on the rant

I said what you said. No one knows BUT it is outside the statute of limitations and so far it was just him making these payments. So, while it isnt a good thing, its not really something I am worried about. I mean there were seven schools listed which means either all seven schools were involved in a conspiracy or he was a rogue agent.
