Honestly... the more I think about it the more I think they will go to 16 sooner than later.
It makes things simple. You get all 10 conference winners and 6 wildcards. That virtually guarantees no 10 ten team is ever left out. This also gives the top 8 schools a home playoff game. I think it's a forgone conclusion it won't be very long before the top 4 schools in a 12 team will start complaining how they are getting screwed out of several million dollars of revenue b/c of the first round bye.

I want to see the 98 Tulane and 2017* UCF teams have a chance to win. The current system doesn’t allow for that. That’s the problem

Good Lord. Its even more obvious that the covid season was fricked up and should have had an asterisk next to it in the record books. Just look at some of the shitty teams in the top 12 last year lol. What a joke.

In 2019 I think Florida would win the 8/9 game setting up a rematch with LSU. After watching LSU destroy OU, I think UGA beats them first...setting up ANOTHER SEC rematch. Far from watering it down, LSU would have finished the season with a possible (probable?):
SECCG: UGA
Playoff: Florida
Playoff: UGA
Playoff: Clemson
Holy hell. That team was awesome, but that’s a lot of quality opponents. Beating both Florida and UGA twice in one year when they are both top-ten is a murderers row.
