I think this will be higher. I doubt he was signed expecting to sit on the bench. He was a freshman AA. I think he'll be pushing for playing time, if he's not off the team before next season rolls around. I'm still confused on this one.
You may be right. The way I am looking at it though is that we return 4 offensive linemen so only the LT job is up for grabs. There are a lot of highly recruited linemen wanting that one available spot.

But none came through huge this year. And looks like the staff doesn't think there's reason that will change much this coming year with this signing. He was expected to move to LT at Tn before he left.

I said typically. You guys are all pointing out a few that have been solid, but discounting all the others that have committed to D1 programs and have not turned out to be anything. JuCo's are typically a big gamble, or a filler at a position that you're extremely fit at. I'm not discounting Saban's ability to evaluate talent, because the bottom line is he's about as good at evaluating as you can be. I was just making a statement, that's mostly true.

Can't wait to see what the Williams kid can do next season.

Douglas already has 1 year of starting experience in the SEC so I would be surprised if he was not able to start at LT. Unfortunately he has been quoted as saying he is "one and done" after this year.

Overall, in college football, you may be right. But I really can't remember any JUCO players for us in the past decade that weren't heavy contributors.

If we land Cyrus that would be ideal for us. One year for Cyrus to RS and develop and Douglas conveniently disappears allowing Cyrus to slide in and freeing up a scholly.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR JESSE WILLIAMS TO BE IN CRIMSON AND WHITE

Hasn't Alabama had top 10 recruiting classes every season Sabear has been there? Were are those players? I understand new coaching staffs hitting the JUCO ranks, but I wouldn't expect Alabama to have to do it. It speaks ill of the recruiting efforts IMHO.

Why is that funny? The Great All Powerful Sabear will have recruited approximately 100 athletes to UAT in his tenure yet they are still going to the JUCO ranks for players (although I believe one did commit and not qualify). Either the recruiting has been bad or they aren't developing the players.
I understand Nutt or Chiz going JUCO. They pretty much had to.

Word was that Williams is likely to not play next year because of an injury that is lingering.Has he healed up or are your coaches thinking it may take some time but he'll be ready? Thanks.

Douglas: 25%
It's a lot higher than that.
We wouldn't have signed him without a 70% chance in my opinion. Not too mention, none of us has a clue who can play LT.

Every college recruits from JUCO. If the kid is good, they get an offer.
You're a fricking idiot. Cam and Fairley were JUCO, and yet you also had a high recruiting class last year. So which was it? Bad recruiting?
Again, you're dumb.

Talent is talent, why does it matter where it comes from? It is hard to find a true NG straight out of HS ready to play, same goes for LTs. Menzie was signed because the secondary dept was and still is low.
The rest are resigns...
