There’s no guarantee Vandagriff is going to be a stud as a Freshman. Why not bring in more competition?

lol there’s already 2 4* competitors in Beck and Mathis.

Put down the moonshine.

Daniels likely is not eligible this year; in fact, I'm pretty certain I read the NCAA is not giving out waivers for this year at all. So he sits and Newman plays.

Daniels and Vandagriff battle for the starter job in 2021; ideally, Daniels wins it and BVG gets his feet wet while preserving his redshirt. Daniels turns pro after the 21 season and BVG starts in 22.

That isn’t enough. Preferable to have no less than 4, and that’s not even accounting for the brain issue with Mathis. We will have a class of 18,19,20, and 21 competing, which is perfect spacing.

So was Eason and Fields. Makes no difference if they never play regardless of who you sign.

That’s fine. He’ll be playing for “Kirby the Choker.”

A true freshman and a guy who sat out last year due to a cyst on his brain?

Ok

Newman only has 1 year but this causes problems if Daniels is immediately eligible because it screws Newman. Either way it means Vandergriff (Ga 5* commit to UGA) is now a soft commit and likely ends elsewhere.

Not every 5 star coming in is a pussy scared of competition.

Just look at Jarrett Guarantano. He stuck around even though he got his job taken.

You realize it’s not for this year, right? It would be a 4* who’s had 3 years in the program, a 4* with 1 year in the program, and a 5* frosh... are you seriously acting like that’s a bad qb room? Ok lol

I’m not saying it’s a bad QB room. But it’s definitely an unknown QB room. You can’t just go off star rankings and assume you’ll be fine. Do you remember our QB situation after Aaron Murray left?

If Jamie goes down - yeah having Daniels would be nice because Beck and Mathis are complete unknowns. With Daniels and Newman - the Qb room gets a lot stronger and gives depth. It’s a good situation.

Daniels isn’t getting a waiver per literally everyone so I’m not sure why you keep grouping him in with Newman

I know what is being reported but his injury took out his entire season. Have to assume that would grant an extra look. You might be right but some in the media think he might get it.

It’s not as good as a room with an extra 5 star junior with experience.

Objectively a really solid pickup for Georgia. Transfer QBs have littered the Heisman ceremony and Playoffs over the past few years. Bringing in more guys is low risk high reward
