While that may be true, I doubt it. Refs have been horrible for years now. They need to quit calling every little thing. An offsides is an offsides not when they shift. If they shift and it causes a lineman to jump its not a false start unless they gain a competitive edge. Quit being so protective of qbs. Those tackles weren't personal fouls. The refs should be written up and suspended.

LSU has been screwed in huge games too, sorry.

One question: Did you watch the video or just jump to conclusions?

We’ve had refs get suspended for sucking in our game.

JP definitely has connections. I think his theory about a call to be more strict on roughing because of the Tua injury is a little out there though. I think these guys are just unqualified. They have serious weak links on the crews and they revert to lowest common denominator for most calls.
LSU fans will justify it because its their team, every teams fan would do the same. There were multiple terrible calls that simply put would have been the difference between USC winning or losing.

He's not wrong. As far as the LSU vs usce game, the officials were just plan awful. There were at least two holding calls in the first quarter that were not called against Carolina. The penalties that were called or not called were bad for both teams.

The florida one is because they lumped sphering into targeting. You Can thank the thug clemson linebacker for that.

Yall keep saying that, and while it may or may not be true, by the letter of the rule you could likely find some sort of holding on every play. That's common knowledge and folks have said it for years. So pushing that argument is really a false narrative.

One of Josh's suggestions is full time refs.
Watch an NFL game and you’ll see that won’t fix anything.
Public accountability is the answer. Players and coaches face public scrutiny and consequences for all they say and do both on and off the field. If they consistently fail to perform they get culled.
Officials do not. Can’t even criticize them without getting fines.
Release their grades after the games. Have them answer for failures like everyone else, stop the beyond reproach protection and you’ll see immediate improvement.
It will also make them more respected. I forget his name but several years ago an NFL ref blew a call and IIRC cost a team a playoff game. On his own after the game he came out publicly and said ‘I fricked up, cost them a game they should have won, and feel terrible about it.” Even the team that got shafted pretty much said that guy was ok by them.

Holding is subjective, short of massively affecting g a play they often ignore it.

Reviews need to go back off-site. All they do now is protect themselves rather than get it right.
Also, instead of "if you THINK it's a penalty, call it" it needs to be "if you KNOW it's a penalty, call it"

This is some major spin.
It was a terribly officiated game, the fanbase of whichever team lost was always going to blame officiating, and both probably have legitimate arguments.

I saw people mention the butt targeting on Saturday, but hadn’t seen it till this video. That one and the Indiana form tackle sack of the UCLA QB should get those crews suspended.
