LOL, the entire community came down on her and her dad basically apologized to the Bama nation for her daughter getting smacked.

It was pathetic and transparent and no rational person would think otherwise. But it's old news, so carry on.

You realize both Upshaw and the girl were arrested and that she initiated the physical confrontation, right? She caught Upshaw chatting up another girl, slapped him, and it went downhill from there.

Should anyone care for the truth here's the actual sequence of events as recounted by the officer that arrested both of them.

Arresting officer Rusty Romine said he spotted Upshaw following Gryzb in the parking lot. He said she appeared to be shouting at Upshaw after he caught up with her.

"At this time Upshaw grabbed Gryzb by the back of the neck and hair" and appeared to try to push her down, Romine wrote in a deposition and charge sheet.

He said she freed herself and attempted to hit Upshaw in the face but missed, then the player grabbed her forearm and pushed her away.

Romine said he separated the two. The officer said both indicated the altercation started after Grzyb saw Upshaw talking to another female. Grzyb said she slapped him and walked away, then Upshaw followed her, the report said.

No one has mentioned maybe she played the victim and is actually guilty of lying to the police on an official statement. Sure battered women often recant stories but they also lie about what happened to them to get the police on their side. The law is simple here, they arrest who they THINK the aggressor is. 300+ lb DL or 100 lb chick. JS look at both sides here.

You must have missed the probable cause part.

Nope didn't miss it all, it's really hard to act upset and put a hole in a wall these days isn't it?

So now we've moved on to prosecuting her.

Troll aside, it might be different if Taylor hadn't faced such an accusation before. Doesn't mean he's not getting screwed here, but makes the whole scenario dirty.

I don't want to prosecute her, but with his past it's hard not to see what could have happened here. I don't give two shits if he comes back to the team but him getting effed is not fair.

You need to look into this more, girls have done way more than that to get their way lol. Don't be a one sided person. My opinion is she is possibly battered but that doesn't matter when you only see one side.

Understood...but why was SHE arrested for filing a false report if that's true? Doesn't add up.

If he got effed, which is a big question. I think it's equally plausible a guy with a history of abusive behavior convinced her to take a fall to try and restore his status.

It's not like abusive people don't manipulate the shite out of people they abuse.

Exactly. None of this changes the fact that we made a mistake bringing him onto the team. But if it turns out this incident was not as reported, some people in the media and those who have joined lynch mob on the rant will have some apologizing to do.

THIS is why you have to wait and everything play out with individuals. Who knows how this was done? The way the rivalry between these two schools is they will go to any length to nail the other and its both sides.

People said Saban was standoffish, unapologetic, very quick to judge his press conference. Saban handles internal issues internally and if he removed the player it was with good reason. If he didnt apologize then it felt he had nothing to apologize for. He probably knew the REAL story but isnt going to waste time trying to explain it to people who dont WANT to know the real story. There are fans of our opponents and fans of other teams in the media that are just waiting to blow something up on Bama, ie , UAB. Now this. It comes with the territory and Saban handles his team his way and there is no other decision makers, no voting, no consulting. HE makes the call.

The best thing about Saban is, he is who he is and doesnt give a %$#& what you think.

why would anyone on the rant need to apologize?

Not really. I mean, sure it'd be unfortunate, but I don't think online posters talking shite about a guy who has a history of domestic violence arrests really have to apologize after a false accusation.

Yep that part makes no sense. Either they had probable cause for the arrest or not.

It's domestic violence. A simple accusation is all they really need for the most part.
