Has he ever recruited a high school football player in his life?

Dude won a Super Bowl. He'd certainly do better than Butch.

Dont let vols fans hear you..they will say you are scared or try to insult you. They need the confidence after having a bad year.

I don't think he would be a world beater either.

I'm willing to let them take the chance though.

Winning a Super Bowl translates to the college game so well. Just like nfl failure.

he could own the weak arse east at UT. be better than anything they have had since Fulmer. it aint gonna happen overnight like they think but he could be competitive in a few years.

I don't get the Gruden hype at all. He hasn't coached in over a decade, has no college experience, and is happy to be making appearances at Hooters. Tennessee is a premier job. Why don't y'all go after Dabo or Chris Petersen or somebody like that? Or better yet, steal Chip Kelly from Florida.

I think players would want to play for Tennessee just because of Gruden being there. I think the first couple years would be good, kinda like Michigan with Harbaugh, then they plateau and they have a boring program again. If Gruden can manage to avoid that, then more power to him. The whole side of my dad's family is from Tennessee so I would love to see them do good.

The Bucs played the raiders in the Superbowl. If Duny gets credit for that team then Gruden gets credit for the raiders team that went to the superbowl...cant have it both ways

Probably, but he's a better broadcaster than Saban will ever be. He's also younger and taller, and would be the hands down favorite if he and Saban ever stepped into the ring for a deathmatch.

So there's that.

i mean it wouldnt be tough for him...youre fooling yourself if you think it would be. the tough thing is getting back into coaching after not doing it for 10 years. the game has changed A LOT

LSU breather. Fans thought the same when Saban went to Bama. If Gruden becomes there rock star like Saban was for Bama, the momentum will carry forward straight into recruiting and UT returning to relevance.
