With almost half the season complete so far who is your choice for SEC Coach of the Year?

Mine is Bobby Johnson. Vandy is playing at a level I have never seen with the smallest Athletic budget and without an Athletic Director. Johnson is building a program that will only get stronger with the ESPN Game Day exposure this past weekend. All those Football Smart guys will want to come to Nashville and play football in the SEC.

Johnson, but I'm gonna laugh when everything stops going Vandy's way and you come back down to earth.

12th in total offense + 10th in total defense = 5-0

Something doesn't add up.

Too early in the season to say just yet. If Johnson wins 7/8 games, it's got to be him though.

Johnson by far if he wins 7+ games, remember they had that meltdown in 2005 after a 4-0 start.

Johnson

I could understand Saban if we went anywhere from 10-2 to 12-0, but only if Vandy blows up.

I don't see a situation in which Miles wins it. He just won a BCSNC, can't really do much afterward in terms of improvement.

i understand this is an lsu site, but there is no reasofor miles to be listed on this thread title. As you say at the midway point, nobody should be mentioned but Johnson and Saban.

you don't win coach of the year for beating shitty teams.

p.s. Johnson

Saban
Johnson
Miles

In that order, but until they start losing its a 3 way tie.

Johnson easily. Considering what he has to work with, easily. I wonder how many coaches could field a competitive team with what he has in Nashville.

I only listed the coaches who are undefeated so far. No bias toward Miles. For those of you who don't understand what is going on at Vandy, here it is. They do not have the talent to beat anyone in the SEC. They are the Boise State, Rutgers of a few years back. They have come together as a team and have a couple of strong leaders that is making the difference. I don't expect them to win all their games, it's impossible. But if they do will it will go down as one of the biggest Cinderella stories ever. And yes, that would be good for the SEC.

I have to agree, if he keeps this going and takes vandy to a bowl I would have to say that he has done more with less than anybody in the SEC.

When you look at BAMA, LSU, Auburn and the others you are suppose to win at a school like that and if you can't then you suck.

So far, it would be a toss-up between Johnson and Saban. However, I see no way that Vandy will continue to grind out wins for the rest of the season, especially against UGA and Florida.

My guess is that it will either go to Saban or Miles. The LSU-Bama game in Death Valley just might determine this year's Coach of the Year.

Right now, Saban.

If Vandy can beat UGA though, Johnson locks it up for the year short of losing every single remaining game.
