Johnson now, Saban if Vandy melts down, and Miles if Bama does too. My money's on Johnson.

i understand this is an lsu site, but there is no reasofor miles to be listed on this thread title. As you say at the midway point, nobody should be mentioned but Johnson and Saban.

Miles would very well deserve it if he won another national championship in a row. After loosing such player leadership and avoiding the "hangover blues" that many coaches struggle with, he would be just as worthy.

Cebon this year

Croom last year was a fluke like Johnson this year, also, Vandy will lose 3-4 games this year easy.

Miles was Robbed last year, and his first year was one of the best coaching jobs I've ever seen. You CANNOT exclude the effect of Katrina and Rita on what all those kids went through. With fans moaning about Cebon, the storms to still go 11-2 and destroy Miami- should have been coach of the year.
Last year? 5/5 on fourth downs vs Florida- calls that worked and were atypical, definatly coach of the year in SEC last year, possibly the nation.

At this point of the season: tough call between Johnson and Saban.

Too early to tell right now. On present work - it's between Saban and Johnson. If Miles keeps with the W's, that might change. KC.

You have to go with Johnson right now with Saban right on the footsteps. Vandy is 5-0, 3-0 SEC...let me repeat, VANDERBILT is 5-0 and 3-0 in the SEC. If Johnson gets this team to a bowl game you have to go with him.

Johnson right now, and later especially if he keeps winning. It's tough to keep winning when people get scared of you. No matter what the schedule looks like.
