So he has acknowledged this. But he was just signing thousands of autographs in places all over the country for hours at a time because he knew someone else was going to make money.
Right? Right.
Do not mistake irritation over this with "not wanting to face Manziel." We relish it. Believe me.
It's just irritating to get hammered for textbook scandals, signed napkins, etc, and then watch guys like Manziel walk.

Chancellor Sharp didn't bash the NCAA. He bashed Darren Rovell/ESPN. Big difference. Sharp said he (Manziel) didn't do (ACCEPT PAYMENT) what they (ROVELL via BROKERS) said he did.
The big picture is that whatever punishment the NCAA hands out to Manziel is the same punishment they should hand out to everyone with a large number of items sold on Ebay.
You can't declare star players ineligible over "allegations" from ESPN that you cannot prove.

Because it was part of a deal made. The other option is he plays but this thing is never put behind 'em. Would end up playing the whole season with a cloud of uncertainty. This way there is finality and everyone can close that chapter.

Yeah it makes sense if you look at it like this. What doesn't make sense is that they don't go after those other guys on the same basis.
NCAA does not want to open that Pandora's box. This is easier and quicker.
